Job Summary:
The Denver Broncos Football Club is a prominent sports franchise seeking a Senior Network Administrator to manage and enhance their network infrastructure. This role involves designing, operating, and evolving the network to support high-density environments, ensuring optimal performance during game days and live events.
Responsibilities:
• Own the design, implementation, and operation of the organization’s network infrastructure across stadium, training facility, and corporate environments, ensuring high availability, scalability, and performance
• Architect and operate high-density network environments capable of supporting tens of thousands of concurrent users, with a focus on WiFi performance, fan experience, and operational reliability
• Lead network operations for mission-critical, real-time environments, including game days and live events, where uptime and performance directly impact football operations, venue operations, and fan engagement
• Design and maintain highly available network architectures, including multi-ISP connectivity, BGP routing, and redundancy/failover strategies
• Implement and mature network observability practices, including telemetry, flow analysis, and end-to-end performance monitoring, to proactively detect and resolve issues
• Develop and maintain network automation and infrastructure-as-code practices (e.g., Python, Ansible, APIs) to improve consistency, scalability, and operational efficiency
• Integrate and support hybrid network environments, including connectivity between on-premises infrastructure and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS, VPN, private connectivity)
• Support emerging stadium technologies, including IoT systems, IPTV/video distribution, and potential private wireless (e.g., CBRS/5G), to enhance operational capabilities and fan experience
• Partner with Cybersecurity teams to implement segmentation, Zero Trust principles, and secure access controls across all environments
• Serve as the technical escalation lead for complex network incidents, driving rapid troubleshooting and resolution during high-impact events
• Manage and optimize relationships with ISPs, carriers, and network vendors to ensure resilient and high-performing connectivity
• Oversee network infrastructure lifecycle, including cabling/data plant, hardware standards, capacity planning, and upgrades
• Maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and standards to support operational excellence and knowledge sharing
• Other duties as assigned to support a football-first culture
Qualifications:
Required:
• 7+ years of experience in network engineering, administration, or related roles in complex enterprise environments
• Proven experience designing, operating, and supporting large-scale, high-density network environments (e.g., stadiums, arenas, large campuses, or similar environments with 25k+ concurrent users)
• Strong hands-on expertise in enterprise networking, including switching, routing, wireless, firewalls, and VPN technologies
• Experience supporting mission-critical, real-time operations where system availability and performance are essential
• Experience designing and maintaining highly available network architectures, including redundancy, failover strategies, and multi-ISP connectivity (e.g., BGP)
• Hands-on experience with network automation and infrastructure-as-code practices (e.g., Python, Ansible, APIs)
• Experience with network monitoring, observability, and performance optimization in complex environments
• Strong understanding of network security principles, including segmentation, NAC, and secure remote access
• Experience supporting hybrid network environments, including integration with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)
• Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to lead diagnosis and resolution of complex network issues
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams
• Ability to operate independently in high-pressure environments, including live events and non-standard working hours
Preferred:
• Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent advanced networking credentials
• Experience with high-density WiFi design, RF optimization, and large-scale wireless deployments
• Experience supporting live events, sports environments, broadcast operations, or other high-visibility, real-time environments
• Experience with modern network observability platforms (e.g., telemetry, flow analysis, synthetic monitoring)
• Experience managing carrier relationships and designing multi-provider network architectures
• Familiarity with emerging technologies such as IoT infrastructure, IPTV/video distribution, or private wireless (e.g., CBRS/5G)
• Experience contributing to network architecture strategy, standards, and long-term planning
