Job description

  • Position Summary
    • Food Service Utility performs a variety of janitorial duties in the Nutritional Services department.

  • Core Job Functions
    • Carts are delivered after cart is loaded. Carts are delivered to the proper unit within designated timeframe. Carts are picked up at assigned time and soiled utility rooms are checked after each meal for dirty dishes and trays.
    • Handles, stores and uses cleaning chemicals and supplies being careful to not mix chemicals according to MSDS standards.
    • Sets up 3 compartment sink, ensuring sanitation solution is at proper level 200 ppm using test strips. Dish machine is set up and ready for service.
    • Pots and pans are cleaned and free of food particles and set on drying racks to air dry completely before stacking on clean dish racks. Isolation trays are handled following infection control policy.
    • Empty, clean and sanitize all department trash cans. Floors in assigned areas are swept and mopped.
