Description:

The Folder Gluer Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of folder gluer equipment to ensure high-quality production in accordance with customer specifications and company standards. This role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate the folder gluer based on production schedules and carton specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance according to operational manuals and manufacturer guidelines.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment parts and supplies, anticipating needs to prevent downtime.
  • Set up and calibrate bar code and glue detection scanners.
  • Train and mentor helpers and packers, providing cross-training and backup support as needed.
  • Participate in quality checks and investigations to ensure products meet required specifications.
  • Rotate helpers between tasks to promote safety and reduce fatigue.
  • Read and interpret job tickets to ensure proper setup and efficient production runs.
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and maintain quality standards for all finished goods.
  • Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe.
  • Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:Qualifications – Education, Experience, License/Certifications:
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the setup, adjustment, and operation of a folder gluer (SBL PG 100C experience preferred).

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Basic math skills and ability to use a conversion table for job specifications.
  • Availability to work weekends and overtime as needed.
