The Folder Operator is a key member of the bindery team, responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining folding machines to produce high-quality printed materials. This role ensures precise folds, slits, and creases according to job specifications while maintaining production efficiency and minimizing waste. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced printing environment, pays close attention to detail, and contributes to a smooth, accurate, and timely bindery workflow.What You'll Do:
  • Set up and operate folder machines to produce printed materials to exact specifications.
  • Adjust side guides, blades, rollers, tension screws, and creasing blades as required for each job.
  • Operate machine to fold, slit, and score printed sheets.
  • Monitor equipment during operation to maintain quality and efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot minor issues and perform routine maintenance as needed.
  • Handle materials safely and maintain a clean, organized work area.
  • Stack and pack bound and finished products on pallet.
What You Bring:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3-4 years of hands-on folder operation experience preferred.
  • Strong manual dexterity and ability to handle materials consistently.
  • Excellent visual skills and attention to color accuracy.
  • Knowledge of paper handling, folding processes, and the printing industry.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

Physical Requirements:
  • Walking 50% | Standing 50% | Lifting, pushing, pulling or carrying 25-50 lbs. and more. | Ability to stand for extended periods. | Safely move materials weighing 500-750 lbs.| Using manual pallet trucks |
  • Ability to lift, move, and position materials throughout the workday and safely operate warehouse equipment for extended periods.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of materials.
