ABOUT US:
Midwest Direct was founded in 1982 as a provider of mail presorting operations. Helping companies in a variety of industries with their personalization and direct mail service, our technology has advanced to the point where just one of our machines can sort up to 50,000 pieces per hour!
Midwest Direct helps our clients efficiently create and deliver their print, mail and digital messages with the best audience data for targeted and accurate deliverability. When you add in our additional delivery channels, such as email, Informed Delivery, and online advertising, we average over two million messages a day delivered to mailboxes, inboxes and online.
Midwest Direct is looking for a Folder Operator to run and maintain our folding equipment - including MBO, Baum, Horizon, and Stahl folders. Whether you're a couple years into your production career or you've been running folders for a decade, we have a role and a pay tier for you. Some folding/print production background is required, but you don't need experience on every brand of equipment we run - we'll cross-train you across our full fleet.
Job duties include:
  • Set up, operate, and monitor folding equipment to prep printed materials for the next step in production
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and basic repairs to minimize downtime
  • Check output against job specs for fold accuracy and quality throughout the run
  • Read and follow job tickets, work orders, and production specs accurately
  • Track job progress using our production tracking systems
  • Coordinate with lettershop and finishing teams to keep jobs moving on schedule
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area

Schedule:
- Monday through Thursday 8am - 5:30pm
- Friday 8am - 12pm
Compensation:
- Base pay of $16.50 - 22/hr based on experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Prior experience operating folding equipment in a print, mailing, or bindery environment preferred
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues
• Ability to read and follow detailed job specifications and diagrams
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team-oriented, deadline-driven environment
• Basic math skills for measuring and counting
Physical demands and abilities:
The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without accommodations
The ability to walk, stand, stoop, and bend 80% of the time with or without accommodations
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
MUST be able to pass criminal background check and drug test!
