CCL Label, a leader in the printing and packaging industry, is looking for a Folding Operator who thrives in a fast-paced, rapidly growing environment. The ideal candidate will be organized, energetic and enjoy working with people.
Our plant is a part of the Healthcare industry and we print pharmaceutical labels.

We are looking for a Folding Machine Operator for the St. Charles, MO facility.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Determine type of fold needed per current jobs.
  • Determine and print all needed paperwork needed for type of job.
  • Follow all procedures required.
  • Select folding sections to be used.
  • Insert correct folding gates and blanks for fold.
  • Source printed materials for folding.
  • Set up feeder to fit sheets.
  • Set rollers.
  • Set fold gates to ensure correct fold quality and size.
  • Install and adjust slitters or scorers if needed to complete fold.
  • Get QA sign in for job.
  • Constantly monitor quality and size of finished leaflets during job run.
  • Box folded product for application or shipping depending on next stage.
  • Must comply with all departmental SOP's (Standard Operating Procedures), company GMP's (Good Manufacturing Practices), Employee Handbook policies, including attendance, and all safety rules and standards.
  • Work Overtime as needed to complete tasks.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Competencies:
  • Must be able to count and measure.
  • Attention to detail is a must.
  • Must be able to work independently and a self- starter but also
  • Must also be able to work as a team.
  • Ability to follow written, oral or verbal directions from others.
  • Ability to respond to questions from managers, team members and customers.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret technical procedures.

Education and Experience:
  • Knowledge of printing production is a plus.
  • Experience with gluing systems and glue detection systems is a plus.
  • Experience with setting up sensors, scanners and vision systems is a plus.
  • Packaging experience in the pharmaceutical or food packaging industry a plus.
  • Must be able to use a computer to navigate through and understand specifications.

Physical Qualifications:
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, twist and lift at least 60 pounds assisted.
  • Ability to remain in a standing position for long periods of time
  • Ability to see, hear, count, measure, read and follow verbal directions in English.
  • Ability to differentiate colors, horizontal and vertical positions.
  • Ability to utilize fine motor skills while working on sensitive machinery is essential.
  • Ability to perform repetitive upper body motions.

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fumes or airborne particles and print chemicals involved in a printing environment. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is moderately loud.
