Service Manager
Full-Time Position with Great Work Schedule
Mercado is seeking a dedicated, experienced, hospitality-driven Service Manager to help lead our front-of-house team in a fast-paced environment. This position reports directly to the General Manager and works closely with Mercado's ownership team to support daily operations, uphold hospitality standards, and ensure exceptional execution during service.
This role is ideal for someone with 3-5 years of hospitality management experience who is seeking a long-term opportunity within a growing brand. We are looking for a hands-on leader who thrives on the floor, leads by example during service, and is passionate about hospitality, team development, and operational excellence.
Specific Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage daily FOH operations in partnership with Mercado's General Manager, Chef, and ownership team to ensure strong execution of service, hospitality standards, and overall guest experience
  • Lead by example and uphold Mercado's standards of professionalism, hospitality, and respect in all interactions
  • Maintain a strong and active presence on the floor during service while leading the team through busy shifts with professionalism and urgency
  • Manage guest flow, line management, table turns, service pacing, and dining room operations
  • Support hiring, onboarding, training, mentoring, and in-the-moment coaching for FOH team members
  • Run pre-shift meetings as needed and maintain strong communication between FOH and BOH teams throughout service
  • Foster a culture of accountability, positivity, teamwork, and hospitality
  • Support and oversee counter service, barista stations, dining room flow, guest interactions, cleanliness standards, and overall floor execution
  • Monitor staffing levels and labor needs throughout shifts and adjust floor coverage as necessary
  • Maintain restaurant cleanliness, organization, and aesthetic standards
  • Assist with POS management (TOAST), cash handling procedures, and daily operational systems
  • Help identify operational improvements and support leadership initiatives established by General Management and ownership

Requirements:
  • Previous restaurant management experience, preferably in a high-volume fast casual restaurant, café, coffee shop, or hospitality-driven counter service environment
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to confidently lead a team through busy service periods while maintaining a calm and positive presence
  • Experience training and developing FOH team members including baristas, counter service, and table service staff
  • Strong food and beverage knowledge with the ability to confidently communicate menu details to guests and staff
  • Experience using restaurant management and POS systems (TOAST experience preferred)
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to enforce policies and procedures consistently and professionally
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and team-oriented mindset
  • Comfortable working in a highly hands-on management role with the majority of time spent actively managing service on the floor
