DESCRIPTION
Front of House Assistant Manager
Position Summary
The Front of House Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the front of the restaurant, ensuring exceptional guest service, maintaining company standards, and leading the front-of-house team. This position is responsible for opening and closing the restaurant, supervising employees, resolving guest concerns, and ensuring all company policies and procedures are followed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Opening and Closing Responsibilities
  • Complete all opening and closing checklists.
  • Ensure the restaurant is clean, organized, and ready for service.
  • Secure the restaurant at closing, including cash handling procedures and alarm activation.
  • Verify that all equipment is functioning properly and report any maintenance issues.

Staff Supervision
  • Supervise servers, hosts, bartenders, bussers, and other front-of-house staff.
  • Ensure employees report to work on time, properly groomed, and in uniform.
  • Assign daily duties and monitor employee performance throughout each shift.
  • Ensure staff follows all company policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Provide coaching, training, and direction to employees as needed.
  • Address employee performance issues and report concerns to the General Manager or Owner.

Guest Service
  • Welcome and greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Ensure every guest receives outstanding service from arrival to departure.
  • Visit tables throughout service to ensure guests are satisfied with their food and service.
  • Resolve guest complaints promptly and professionally.
  • Promote a positive dining experience that encourages repeat business.

Operations
  • Ensure the dining room, host stand, bar, and restrooms remain clean and organized throughout the shift.
  • Monitor reservations, wait times, and seating to maximize efficiency.
  • Assist staff during busy periods by seating guests, running food, bussing tables, or assisting with service when needed.
  • Monitor labor costs and staffing levels as directed.
  • Maintain communication between the front and back of the house to ensure smooth operations.

Company Standards
  • Follow and enforce all company policies, procedures, health regulations, and safety standards.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation requirements.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding company information and employee matters.
  • Represent the restaurant in a professional manner at all times.

Qualifications
  • Previous restaurant management or supervisory experience preferred.
