SummaryThe Human Resources Department is accepting applications for an experienced Leaves Administrator to administer and support the full lifecycle for all leaves of absence including but not limited to FMLA, Minnesota PFML, and workers' compensation claims. Acts as the subject matter expert and effectively coordinates general administration, comprehensive case management, and program compliance with all related federal, state, or local employment laws and regulations. Performs exemplary customer service and assistance to employees, executives, and HR staff. Coordinates employment- and leave-related investigations. Processes accommodation requests and performs related duties as required.
Position is eligible for teleworking arrangement (up to two days per week of remote work) after 6 months of continuous regular employment and a satisfactory performance record.

What You'll Do- Administers and coordinates full lifecycle for all employee leave programs (e.g., FMLA, personal, military, jury, bereavement) ensuring compliance with applicable Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBA), policies, and federal/state/local laws.
- Receives and reviews requests for leaves, including supporting documentation; sends required notifications, forms and letters; and determines leave eligibility.
- Maintains a database to track the receipt and status of leave requests. Maintains confidential records, files and reports. Maintains the OSHA 300 log.
- Tracks continuous, intermittent, paid, and unpaid leave time in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Serves as the primary point of contact for leave requests, communicating directly with department managers and employees advising them on appropriate leave processes and policies.
- Serves as liaison with other departments to submit required documentation for pending cases and represents Human Resources and MPRB at related hearings.
- Assists in the creation and facilitation of training programs for varying groups particularly on leave administration and workers' compensation, and other relevant matters as they arise.
- Coordinates and tracks workers' compensation claims and works closely with employees, supervisors, and the MPRB's third party administrator (TPA) through the life of a claim.
- Assist MPRB in identifying and addressing the park and recreation needs of underserved and under-represented communities.
What To BringNeed to Have: - Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, a related field or equivalent
- Progressively responsible experience performing leave administration: Three (3) years.
- Experience performing general HR functions: Three (3) years.
- Experience utilizing human resource information systems: Two (2) years.
Nice to Have:- Professional HR certification (such as PHR or SPHR).
- Related government experience.
- Experience working with Unions and labor contracts.
Skills Crucial to Success in This Role: - Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local leave related regulations (e.g., FMLA, HIPAA).
