Floor Planner - Maintenance - BWX Technologies, Inc. - Barberton, Ohio
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Coordinate closely with the Operations team to plan and schedule preventative, predictive, and repair maintenance in a way that minimizes interference with the shop's flow.
• Collaborate with Operations to plan and handle all safety-related maintenance tasks, ensuring they are completed within required guidelines.
• Confirm that all necessary materials and parts are available before starting a maintenance job.
• Keep maintenance and production teams informed about upcoming work and provide real-time updates during job execution.
• Identify and resolve any scheduling conflicts between maintenance and production to maintain an efficient workflow.
• Review work orders for accuracy, clarify any ambiguous instructions, and correct errors as needed.
• Spend 70-80% of time working directly on the shop floor performing hands-on maintenance activities.
• Perform additional tasks assigned by the Maintenance Leadership Team, including help with planning, scheduling, and technology improvements.
• This is a 1st shift role (Monday-Friday) with occasional overtime and extra hours during plant shutdowns or other high-demand periods.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• A minimum of 6 years of experience working in maintenance or facilities support in a hands-on role. Other relevant experience may be considered.
• Prior experience using SAP for maintenance tasks is highly desirable.
• Experience with HBM, VBM, lathes, robot welders, and production welding equipment is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively work with team members.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
• Flexibility to work overtime, including some weekends and during plant shutdown periods.
Pay: $64,000 - $90,000
The base salary range for this position in Ohio (US-OH) at the start of employment is expected to be between $64,000 and $90,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,' unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
