Beauty Systems Group, branded as Cosmo Prof or Armstrong McCall stores, along with its direct sales consultants, sell professionally branded products intended for use and resale by salons to retail consumers.  This is a hybrid role reporting into the reporting into the Support Center at Legacy West in Plano Texas.

About the role

The Floor Planning Analyst will drive all macro space planning (floor planning) at a store-specific level. This includes maintaining floor plans, new stores and remodels, store lists, any demographic variation in store models, and anything relating to store prototypes, store publishing, floor planning, adjacencies, store test formats, channel clustering, and macro space performance. Execution will include work within JDA Floor Planning, Channel Clustering, Space Automation, CKB Web Publisher and CKB database. Position will be driver of analytics and space performance metrics for Floor Planning/Macro Space to drive effective space optimization and space performance across CosmoProf and or Sally Beauty Stores.

Responsibilities:

  • Create store-specific floor plans within JDA Floor Planning and Category Management software. This includes maintaining prototype plans and supporting new stores and remodels. Execute quality control measures for merchandise floor plans ensuring accuracy of store assignments, compliance with strategic vision and/or corporate standards; emphasis on accuracy, attention to detail, and an inquisitive mindset. Assign and validates planogram/store assignments for assigned business areas to ensure accurate store/item authorizations which drive inventory authorizations. 
  • Participate in special store projects, new store reviews, expansions, and department resets as applicable to the assigned business area; responsible for communicating and collaborating with Space Planning Analysts to ensure project deliverables are met in accordance with the timeline, presentation standards and category criteria.
  • Provide deep analytical analysis using Floor Planning and CKB (JDA), looking for opportunities to develop a customer centric approach to the merchandise floor plans; consistently performs complex and highly detailed work with accuracy and precision.
  • Build and maintain collaborative partnerships with Merchandising, Inventory and Store Operations teams; expected to gain credibility and earn trust of key executives across the organization and store leadership teams; works cross-functionally to gain alignment on merchandise plans in accordance to strategic objectives. 
  • Responsible for store support in regards to merchandising plans; acts with a strong sense of urgency to anticipate customer's needs; takes responsibility to finding lasting solutions to difficult problems 

Knowledge, skills & abilities requirements

SYSTEM QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • At least 2 years of experience in JDA Floor Planning and Category Management software. Knowledge of JDA Space Planning is a bonus.
  • 2-4 years of related work experience, including project management, retail operations, and visual merchandising. 
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Suite including: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word 
  • A plus if proficient in AutoCAD or Revit computer design program 

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Visual Merchandising, Business or related field 

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, and/or CREDENTIALS: 

  • JDA certifications
  • Experience in a tier 1 retailer's floor plan development process 
  • Project management experience

Working conditions & physical requirements

This will be a hybrid role required to be onsite at the corporate office on specified days. The work environment generally involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, and occasionally requires carrying, moving and setting up of computers, for example desktops, monitors, printers, and other small hardware in the testing lab.
