Job description

Overview
As a Field Archaeologist- Flex Force for Civil & Environmental Consultants, Inc. (CEC), in our Phoenix, AZ office you will work on a variety of projects, including Phase I archaeological surveys, Phase II evaluations, and Phase III mitigation projects. You will have the opportunity to travel to several US regions. You will be a part of a team that navigates today's complex environmental regulatory landscape, helping our commercial, institutional, and energy clients with Cultural Resource compliance under Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act.
The duration of the field work for a typical project varies from 1-7 days while some larger projects will last from 20-30 days. If you enjoy the outdoors, have an inquisitive mind, and are not afraid to get dirty, then this is the opportunity for you.
This is not a full-time position and does not include benefits.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a closely related field
  • Ability to speak and write professionally
  • Previous archaeology experience, including internship or field school is preferred but not required
  • Familiarity with archaeological field methods, GPS devices, data collector/total station, and GIS preferred
