Director, Legal Operations and Compliance

Your Mission:

Your mission is to lead and continuously improve the legal operations and compliance infrastructure that supports Inspiration’s growth. You will manage corporate governance, entity compliance, contract lifecycle processes, legal technology, fleet financing support, cap table management, regulatory and operational compliance workflows, routine contract review, outside counsel management, and cross-functional legal processes that help the business scale efficiently and responsibly.

You will reportto: General Counselbut alsowillwork closely withourSeniorDirector, Commercial Counsel and other senior leaders acrosstheFinance, People, and Fleet Operations teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Legal operations leadership: design, implement, and optimize legal processes, templates, playbooks, intake workflows, approval structures, and reporting that allow the Legal function to support the business efficiently and consistently
  • Contract lifecycle management: administer and improve CLM workflows, support routine contract review and execution,maintaincontracting standards, and partner with business teams on NDAs, MSAs, fleet lease documentation, amendments, notices, and related commercial agreements
  • Corporate governance and entity management: prepare andmaintainboard materials, minutes, written consents, resolutions, officer and director records, subsidiary records, annual reports, state registrations, tax accounts, and governance trackers
  • Compliance and risk management:maintaincompliance calendars, policies, delegation of authority processes, audit-ready documentation, insurance and registration support, and operational controls that help the company meet internal and external obligations
  • Fleet financing and collateral support: coordinate legal documentation and processes for vehicle leasing, financing,eVaulting, lender requirements, UCC filings, diligence, and related operational support

Who You Are:

  • You have at least 10 years of experience in a legal operations, risk and/or compliance function with significant autonomy and project leadership, preferably in a startup or high growth environment
  • You havea track recordof building practical legal processes, improving contract and governance workflows, and translating legal requirements into clear, scalable business operations
  • You are highly organized and detail-oriented, with experience managing entity records, board materials, compliance calendars, contract repositories, signature processes, and cross-functional trackers
  • You have a demonstrated history ofidentifyingstructural or strategic issues and opportunities, and presenting conclusions and recommendations verbally and in writing
  • You have strong analytical and communication skills and a proven ability to solve multi-disciplinary problems creatively
  • You are comfortable working with legal technology and data to create actionable insights, refine processes, strengthen controls, and improve operational efficiency
  • You communicate clearly with stakeholders acrossdifferent levelsand functions in an organization
  • You thrive in hands-on, fast-moving environments where you can build structure, solve ambiguous problems, and leave behind durable processes that help the organization scale

Location: Washington, D.C. preferred, but we are willing to consider remote for the right candidate. Our in-office team works from our Dupont Circle office Tuesday through Thursday. Remote work on Mondays and Fridays is voluntary, and employees are welcome to work from the office if they’d prefer.
