The Technician position will have the ability to operate diagnostic equipment, diagnose automotive malfunctions; ability to read and understand automotive maintenance manuals; ability to follow and issue written and oral instructions. The Technician position will inspect, diagnose and perform approved necessary repairs on any authorized vehicle, support the sales function by completing each job on time, without error or omission. A Technician will possess a minimum of 4 ASE certifications, will keep certifications current while in this position and have the ability and desire to grow into a Master Level Technician. It is the responsibility of all employees to keep their work, tool box, and shop equipment clean and safe.
Requirements
  • Technicians are responsible for diagnosing, repairing and performing preventive maintenance on our customer's vehicles.
  • Always perform the highest quality work, maintaining our reputation for Honesty, Integrity, and Excellence. You agree you have good communication skills and a commitment to excellent customer service.
  • As a technician at CAR FIX you are expected to complete a percentage of daily oil changes and inspections. It is the technician's responsibility to identify any needed or recommended services or repairs and bring that information to the service advisors' attention.
  • The customer's vehicle must be returned as clean as or better than when it was dropped off.
  • Please watch for hand/foot prints, use floor mats, etc. The engine compartment may require cleaning as well when the job is completed. Clean any fluid drips/spills and any other mess that is a result from the repair. Clean any oil runoff after oil changes, degrease engines after oil leak repairs, etc.
  • Technicians must keep their work area and toolboxes clean.
  • Clean shop equipment before returning it back to storage. This includes transmission jacks, flush machines, A/C machine, parts cleaning tank, etc.
  • All vehicles are to be test drove before and after the work is completed to ensure the customer's complaint has been addressed and to find any other issues that the customer may not be aware of. Double check for hand/foot prints on the hood, doors, floor mats, etc. Then remove the disposable floor mat after the final test drive.
  • Perform repairs and vehicle inspections in a timely manner.
  • Maintain ASE certifications and keep current.
  • In the event the repair will take longer than quoted, the technician may be required to stay past scheduled time. If the technician cannot or will not stay past scheduled time, management reserves the right to delegate the job to another technician.
  • In the event of comeback/recheck the technician will inspect/ diagnose with no guarantee of diagnosis charge for repairs that were previously paid. And reserves the right to back-flag the original technician if that technician is unavailable that day.
  • You must communicate with the manager before you leave for the day.
