About Motago AI

Motago AI is an AI-powered sales and customer engagement platform built specifically for automotive dealerships. Our technology helps dealerships respond to leads faster, communicate with customers through chat, SMS, and email, qualify buyers, follow up automatically, and book more appointments.

We are growing and looking for an energetic, confident Outside Sales Representative to help us bring Motago AI to more dealerships.

The Role

This is a hands-on, field sales position.

You will spend most of your time visiting independent car dealerships in person, speaking directly with dealership owners, general managers, and decision-makers, demonstrating Motago AI, and converting dealerships into customers.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys face-to-face sales, is comfortable walking into businesses without an appointment, and knows how to build relationships quickly.

Previous automotive sales experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Visit independent car dealerships in person and introduce Motago AI to dealership owners and managers
  • Prospect and cold approach dealerships throughout your assigned territory
  • Build relationships with dealership owners and key decision-makers
  • Explain how Motago AI can help dealerships respond to leads faster, automate follow-ups, and generate more appointments
  • Conduct product demonstrations both in person and virtually
  • Identify dealership pain points and explain how Motago AI can solve them
  • Follow up with interested prospects by phone, text, and email
  • Negotiate and close new dealership accounts
  • Maintain an organized pipeline of prospects, demos, follow-ups, and closed accounts
  • Work directly with the founders and provide feedback from dealerships to help improve our product and sales process
  • Meet weekly and monthly dealership signup goals

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of sales experience
  • Automotive sales experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience working at a car dealership is a major plus
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Comfortable approaching business owners and decision-makers in person
  • Confident handling objections and asking for the sale
  • Self-motivated and comfortable working independently in the field
  • Persistent, competitive, and goal-oriented
  • Comfortable learning and demonstrating new technology
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally to dealerships
  • Basic CRM and computer skills

Ideal Candidate

You may be a great fit if you have previously worked as a:

  • Automotive Sales Consultant
  • Used Car Salesperson
  • Dealership Business Development Representative
  • Automotive BDC Representative
  • Outside Sales Representative
  • Account Executive
  • Territory Sales Representative

We are especially interested in people who understand how independent dealerships operate and already know how to communicate with dealership owners.

Compensation

This position includes:

  • Competitive base salary
  • Commission for every dealership signed
  • Additional performance-based bonuses and incentives
  • Significant earning potential as Motago AI continues to grow

Exact compensation will be discussed based on experience.

Why Join Motago AI?

You will be joining an early-stage technology company in the rapidly growing automotive AI space.

Unlike a traditional corporate sales role, you will work closely with the founders, have a direct impact on the company's growth, and help shape our sales strategy.

For the right salesperson, there is significant opportunity to grow with the company as we expand into additional markets across the United States.
