This role plays a critical part in protecting lives and property by ensuring new construction and existing facilities meet fire safety standards. DOD Fire Inspector Certification Fire Inspector II Certification Standard or Probationary ICC Fire Inspector Certification Bachelor's Degree in Fire Protection or Construction License as a professional engineer or registered architect with design, construction, or inspection experience on level III buildings NFPA Certified Fire Protection Specialist ("OR" within 1 year of hire date) Valid NC Class C driver's license ("OR" out of state with an ability to obtain NCDL-Class C) An Ideal Candidate Would Also Possess (Preferred Qualifications): NC Fire Inspector III National Institute for Certification in Engineering Technologies (NICET) I, II, III NC Fire Investigation Technician NC Fire Instructor I Requirements Additional Requirements: A resume must be included with the application Proof of certifications is required before interviews
