Location: This is a hybrid position in Palo Alto, CA or Arlington, VA, with the expectation of being in the office two to three days per week.

What You Will Be Doing (Key Responsibilities):

  • Core Financial Operations: Facilitating accounts payable, accounts receivable, general bookkeeping, and reconciling financial accounts.

  • Compliance & Data Integrity: Maintaining strict compliance with internal financial controls, federal regulations, and data governance policies. Ensuring all financial reporting is accurate, sensitive data is managed securely, and a strict "human-in-the-loop" standard is maintained for verifying AI-generated data or formulas.
  • Executive Reporting: Supporting the preparation of executive-level reports and presentations, utilizing AI tools to rapidly draft clear summaries of complex financial datasets.
  • Market Awareness: Maintaining up-to-date technical knowledge of financial instruments, market conditions, and emerging industry trends.
  • Contract Admin and Proposal Support: Supporting contract administration, pricing exercises, and proposal development as needed.
Experience and Qualifications You'll Need to Thrive in this Role:
  • Education: BA/BS degree required (Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Statistics preferred) or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 2โ€“3 years of business finance and operations or other relevant experience.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and data-gathering skills with high attention to detail and proficiency in financial modeling.
  • Software Fluency: Fluent with Excel and/or Google Sheets formulas and functions. Proficient in Microsoft Office and the broader Google Workspace suite.
  • AI & Automation Literacy: Direct experience using Gemini (or equivalent generative AI tools) to enhance productivity, audit data, or build spreadsheets. Conceptual understanding of prompt engineering and data privacy best practices.

***US Citizenship required.***

Preferred Attributes (Pluses):

  • Accountable: Displays humility and commitment to self-improvement and self-awareness, including proactively seeking and welcoming constructive feedback from colleagues.
  • Strong Communicator: Has strong interpersonal skills, including written, oral, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively interact with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-Oriented: Has great attention to detail, maintaining a critical eye to catch discrepancies in both human and AI-generated work.
  • Multitasker: Ability to manage and prioritize many concurrent tasks in a fast-paced environment.
