Job description

Hudson River Trading (HRT) is seeking a People Operations Generalist to join our People team in NYC. The People team is responsible for the well-being and performance of all HRT employees across our global offices. From recruiting to onboarding to the continued engagement and development of our employees, the People team is dedicated to creating an environment that is authentic, inclusive, and upholds our company values.
In this role, you will oversee a variety of operational functions related to the People Operations team. Responsibilities include owning all due diligence tasks between offer acceptance and a new hire's first day, and constantly looking for ways to improve the employee experience.
Responsibilities
  • Support the new hire experience from offer acceptance through onboarding, acting as a primary point of contact to ensure a welcoming environment and seamless transition
  • Manage and oversee the background check process for all incoming hires, ensuring all screenings are completed and cleared in accordance with company standards and local regulations before the start date
  • Facilitate and authorize relocation benefits for eligible new hires, serving as the bridge between the employee and third-party vendors to ensure a smooth move and compliance with HRT policies
  • Assist with various traditional HR functions, including HRIS entry and maintenance, and ensure data validity in our systems and other HR applications by keeping records up to date
  • Perform regular audits to ensure all required employee documentation is collected, organized, and retained according to global document retention guidelines and HRT policies
  • Assist with the coordination and scheduling of new employee orientation and ongoing training sessions
  • Coordinate with hiring managers, recruiters, and local workplace managers to ensure all stakeholders are prepared for a new hire's first day
  • Support cross-team projects related to the pre-hire experience, including managing swag and travel

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience, with a minimum of 1 year as an HR Coordinator or similar
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree; a PHR/PHR/SHRM-CP certification is a plus
  • Experience with HR software platforms, Workday experience required
  • Ability and desire to learn new technologies quickly
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Highly ethical and accustomed to managing confidential information with discretion
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

The estimated base salary range for this position is $110,000 - $140,000, based on job-related skills and experience. This role will also be eligible for discretionary performance-based bonuses and a competitive benefits package.
