Assistant Financial Controller

Location: West Palm Beach, FL (Onsite)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $100,000 – $120,000 per year

Since 1975, the firm has delivered award-winning projects across South Florida and the United States, combining innovative design with exceptional project and budget management.

Known for its commitment to energy-efficient and sustainable design, the company has built long-term client relationships through quality, collaboration, and consistent project success.

Position Summary

The Assistant Financial Controller will work closely with the ownership team to oversee the company's financial operations and support strategic business growth. This is a full-time, onsite leadership role responsible for ensuring strong financial performance, financial reporting accuracy, and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting activities.
  • Monitor project profitability and prepare Work-in-Progress (WIP) reports.
  • Manage cash flow forecasting and financial reporting.
  • Support long-term financial strategy and business planning.
  • Partner with executive leadership to improve financial processes and operational efficiency.
  • Ensure accurate financial controls and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of senior-level accounting or finance leadership experience.
  • Experience within architecture, engineering, construction (AEC), or other project-based professional services is highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of:
    • Financial planning and forecasting
    • Budgeting
    • Project accounting
    • Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting
    • Cash flow management
    • Financial reporting and internal controls
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Must currently reside within commuting distance of West Palm Beach, FL.
