Moog is hiring a Business Unit General Manager (BUGM) for our Circuit Card Business Unit (BU). Reporting to the Group Vice President of Operations, this role can be based at our Salt Lake City manufacturing facility or at our corporate headquarters in East Aurora, NY, and will also provide leadership oversight to our Cork, Ireland site.

This BU generates approximately $70M in intercompany revenue, with significant growth potential. As the BUGM, you will own full profit and loss (P&L) responsibility and lead all key functional areas, including Supply Chain, Engineering, Program Management, Quality, Operations, and Sales.

As a Business Unit General Manager, you will:

  • Have responsibility for the BU P&L, overall financial performance, On Time Delivery, Quality, and Safety.
  • Create/maintain an environment Moog personnel want to be part of, and customers want to do business with, long term.
  • Build/maintaining a BU Leadership Team based on trust and mutual respect is paramount to success. You'll provide leadership that emphasizing the importance of talent development.
  • Build a team that is excited to grow together out of the two primary business unit operating locations in Salt Lake City and Cork Ireland.
  • Collaborate with other Business Unit General Managers as success with the internal customer is a key accountability for this role. We will work together to minimize the risk of siloed operations, especially as we define and create the dedicated factory spaces to support these businesses.
  • Establish and maintain a leadership team that provide oversight for Operations, Engineering, Program Management, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing Operations and to some degree, Business Development.
  • Provide direction for business financials with recurring and new business pricing and contract negotiation outcomes and risk/opportunity assessment for all related decisions.
  • Be accountable for BU customer relationships, those that are existing as well as those that are still maturing. Be proactively engaged in the development of strategic customer relationships.
  • Develop and lead strategic plans for your business segment, ensuring alignment and coordination with the rest of the Space and Defense Group and their customers.
  • Actively share in leadership, strategic decision making and management (i.e., establishment and adherence to budgets) of the Space and Defense Group (SDG) while communicating and promoting this new business, SDG and Company Strategies.

To be considered for the role, here's what you'll need to bring with you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Business or Technical discipline (MBA is desirable)
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in the electronics manufacturing industry
  • 5+ years of experience in a strategic leadership role that includes leading people and strategy
  • Experience leading a P&L in the Space, Defense, or Aerospace industry
  • This job is expected to work out of Salt Lake City, Utah or East Aurora, NY and includes a significant amount of travel.

Salary Range Transparency:

Salt Lake City, UT $180,000.00-$250,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
