Title of Position: Assistant Controller


Compensation: $110k to $130k plus 10% bonus. Relocation allowance available.


Job Description:


As the Assistant Controller, you will oversee key accounting functions, including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Payroll, General Cashier, Income Audit, and Financial Reporting. You will play a critical role in supporting the Financial Controller with monthly and annual financial processes such as closing, reporting, budgeting, and auditing. The Assistant Controller will ensure compliance with financial regulations, enhance departmental productivity, and support financial planning and reporting. Responsibilities include preparing accurate financial statements, reconciling general ledger accounts, and conducting detailed financial analyses. You will also collaborate with operational leaders to review labor performance and productivity, assist with annual budget preparation, and act as a liaison for internal and external audits. Additionally, the Assistant Controller will identify opportunities for process improvement, support systems implementation, and maintain the integrity of financial systems and records. This role requires exceptional leadership skills to foster a high-performing team culture and ensure compliance with internal controls and financial standards.

Qualifications:

  • The Assistant Controller must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive financial experience in the hotel industry is required.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and experience with systems implementation are highly desirable.
  • A CPA or an MBA is preferred for the Assistant Controller position.
