About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on and strategic Finance Manager to lead key financial operations across a diverse and growing organization. This role combines technical accounting, project-based finance, and team leadership, offering strong visibility and influence across the business.

Construction experience is highly valued, with a focus on WIP reporting, job costing, and project financials.


Key Responsibilities Financial Reporting & Analysis
  • Oversee preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
  • Analyze construction revenue projections and profitability
  • Review Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules, including over/under billings
  • Manage financial reporting across multiple entities (construction, real estate, healthcare, etc.)
  • Lead contributions to the month-end close process and deliver actionable insights
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements
  • Support reporting for ownership, lenders, and external stakeholders
Project Accounting
  • Oversee job costing, budget-to-actual analysis, and cost-to-complete projections
  • Perform and review hands-on project accounting work
  • Partner with project managers and operations to ensure financial accuracy
Team Leadership
  • Review staff work for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards
  • Foster a collaborative and accountable team environment
  • Serve as a key resource for complex accounting issues
Process & Systems
  • Lead process improvements, system enhancements, and policy development
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and strengthen controls
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes
  • Coordinate with auditors, tax advisors, and third-party partners

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership experience
  • Construction industry experience strongly preferred (WIP, job costing, AIA billing, % completion)
  • Experience managing multi-entity financial reporting
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP
  • Proficiency in accounting systems (Sage, QuickBooks, or similar)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on
  • Experience with real estate and/or healthcare accounting is a plus
