Summer Event: Candidates selected as a part of the application process will be invited to attend the Rotational Analyst Program Summer Event.  This event will include a presentation, which will give an overview of Davidson Kempner's investment capabilities, as well as an opportunity to network with current investment professionals.

Program Overview: 

This is a 2-year analyst program that will involve a rotation in the first year across different investment teams within credit and equities, ranging from U.S. Corporates, Real Estate, Structured Products, Long/Short Credit, Long/Short Equities, Convertible Arbitrage, Merger Arbitrage and Special Situations. The experience will provide exposure to both private and public equity and credit markets.  We will offer excel, corporate finance and accounting training, including access to extensive virtual programs, but most of the learning will come from apprenticeship and working side by side with the investment teams. In the second year of the program, the analyst will remain with one team to gain deeper knowledge and further develop skills.  There is an opportunity to stay beyond the two years for analysts who perform at a high level.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working with the investment teams to identify, research and recommend potential investments and monitor an investment from initiation to conclusion
  • Managing existing public and private market exposures.

Candidate Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • Strong academic achievement and analytical skills including a minimum GPA of 3.5 from a leading institution.
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Ability to think quickly, critically and objectively
  • Team player who enjoys collaborative workflows while taking on ownership and accountability.
  • Self-motivated, proactive and entrepreneurial spirit
  • Interest in markets and investing
  • Extracurriculars and leadership experience are highly desired

Skills/Knowledge that will be developed:

  • Ability to construct and articulate investment ideas
  • An understanding of accounting and corporate finance and ability to create financial models
  • Transaction analysis, due diligence, investment research, negotiation, and project management
