Job description

What We're Looking For

We are seeking an CEI ITS Inspector for current and future FDOT construction work in Central Florida. Experience in electrical, fiber, and communication system installation is a must. This position will be based in Celebration, FL and surrounding area.

What You'll Do:

  • Observes, documents, and verifies work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with contract documents and plans. Confirms procedures are followed and material used conforms to specifications.
  • Utilizes engineering inspection practices to perform standard mathematical calculations and measurements of completed work to date.
  • Maintains Inspector's daily report of assigned work activities, contactor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified.
  • Performs on-site material testing and produces as-constructed sketches as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need:

  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 3 years of construction related experience.
  • All required jurisdictional certificates and state requirements.

What We Prefer:

  • At least 2 years of verifiable FDOT CEI experience or contractor experience in ITS installation.
  • This position is ideally suited for local candidates in the area above due to the nature of the work.
  • IMSA Fiber Optics for ITS Level I and FDOT ITS CEI Computer-Based Trainings (Managed Field Ethernet Switch Module, CCTV Camera Module, MVDS Module, DMS Module, and Advanced MOT)
  • Proficient in reading and understanding construction plans and specifications.
  • Ability to work with others, take direction, and communicate verbally and in writing.
  • Willingness to learn.
