Job description

The Associate District Manager plays a key role in driving the growth and success of the Farmers Insurance Group agency force by recruiting high-quality candidates, onboarding and developing new agents, and providing ongoing coaching to existing agency owners and their teams. This role serves as a subject matter expert on all company systems, products, processes, and initiatives, while partnering closely with district leadership to execute the overall vision and strategic growth plan. The Associate District Manager is responsible for monitoring and improving key performance indicators across all lines of business, including auto, home, life, commercial, and specialty products, while helping agents set goals, build business plans, and implement effective sales strategies. Through regular performance reviews, one-on-one coaching, and participation in district trainings and recognition events, this role ensures strong agent performance, retention, and development. The position also involves occasional travel within the district to support recruiting efforts, conduct agency visits, and perform field assessments, all while maintaining strict adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.

Base compensation: 55,000-65,000 plus commission

Responsibilities

Recruit qualified candidates to join the Farmers Insurance agency force within the district.

Onboard, train, and mentor new agents to ensure a strong foundation for long-term success.

Provide ongoing coaching and development to existing agents to maximize performance and retention.

Be the content expert on all Farmers Insurance Group systems, products, processes, and initiatives.

Collaborate with the District Principal on district wide vision and execute accordingly.

Monitor and drive growth Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) across all lines of business, including auto, home, life, commercial, and specialty products within the Farmers Insurance Group family.

Collaborate with the District Manager to develop and execute strategic plans for district growth.

Help agency owners and staff set goals and make plans to achieve those goals

Conduct regular performance reviews and one-on-one meetings with agents under your stewardship.

Support agents in business planning, goal setting, and sales strategy execution.

Participate in district training events, meetings, and agent recognition activities.

Travel occasionally within the district to conduct field visits, agency assessments, and recruiting activities.

Maintain compliance with all Farmers Insurance policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.


Requirements

Demonstrated experience in sales & business development, or a related leadership field.

Demonstrated ability to solve creative problems.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to inspire and influence others.

Self-motivated with a high degree of initiative, integrity, and accountability.

Ability to analyze performance data and translate insights into actionable coaching strategies.

Proficiency with standard business technology tools (email, CRM systems, Microsoft Office, etc.).

Ability to travel occasionally within the assigned district.

2+ years of experience in management/ leadership

Previous sales experience

Ability to get General Lines Property & Casualty (P&C) License

Ability to get General Life & Health (L&H) License
