Position Summary:

Machine Operator 2 is a key role within the plant and ensures the production equipment is running correctly and efficiently. The Machine Operator 2 is specifically responsible for operating Atlas Operator, ABL Operator, Past Operator, and Clean Room Operator equipment.

What you will Do:

  • Ensure compliance with and maintain all GMP/PPE/Safety, SQF, HACCP & Sanitation guidelines and processes.
  • Conduct pre-shift and post-shift inspections for quality (blades and wash system), machine lubricant, and sanitization. Identify equipment inefficiencies and perform preventative maintenance of the equipment when applicable.
  • Execute start up procedures including filter, flume, wash tanks, etc. Manage and disperse appropriate water levels amongst all branches of flumes utilizing pasteurizer systems. (Past Op.)
  • Identify the appropriate knife utilization dependent on the product specification and validate cut dimensions meet product and order specifications. (Atlas Op.)
  • Maintain an uninterrupted flow of product by identifying production needs and access priorities as well as managing change overs and clean breaks to minimize any downtime.
  • Customize chemical mixture to protect product spoilage, while ensuring chemical levels meet and do not exceed food safety regulations.
  • Visual checks of defects, FO’s, size, color, quality, etc.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • GED/High School Diploma
  • Ability to read, write and speak English; comprehension of basic math.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work in a cold, wet, fast-paced, 24 hour plant environment.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Ability to be cross trained and multitask in multiple positions.

Physical Work Environment / Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the associate will be required to perform repetitive movements (i.e., scooping condiments into salad bowls). The associate regularly works near moving mechanical parts and is regularly exposed to extreme cold. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.

  • Ability to frequently move, push, or carry items up to 50lbs
  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods
  • Ability to move about within a fast paced environment in/outside facility, and traverse between the maintenance shop & production floor.
  • Ability to ascend/descend on stairs/ladder for repairs
  • Ability to position self to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
  • Exposed to a cold & wet environment of 34 degrees. Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information through frequent communications within all levels of the organization
  • Must be able to detect, identify, inspect, observe, and assess surroundings
