Job description

We are looking for a designer who brings a human-centered mindset to our team. This role involves creative development for immersive environments, including exhibit installations, museum exhibitions, experiential graphic design, and custom brand or retail installations. The position will work collaboratively with our team of designers and fabricators to develop design concepts, brand systems, visualizations, illustrations, complex installations, presentations, and support documentation โ€“ resulting in creating innovative, playful, and thought provoking spaces. The designer will also be a part of the client facing interaction, attending meetings, site visits and installs.

The designer must have strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills and be able to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously. A successful candidate will be a self-starter and work well independently as well as part of a team; willing to jump in and help wherever it is needed.

This position will gain a unique understanding of user experience, playing a crucial role in shaping how Design Dimension provides turn key solutions from creative concepting to fabricating and installing the built environment all under one roof.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in design or a related field with at least 3 years of experience in exhibit and experiential design, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and associated modeling software to develop renderings and 3-D graphics
  • A passion for design and collaborative problem-solving
  • The ability to work independently, but with direction and support of a team
  • The ability to collaborate with architects, designers, community members, stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of design intent
  • Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills, with experience translating complex ideas into compelling design solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams while managing multiple projects simultaneously and adhering to tight deadlines
  • Ability to communicate, manage, and maintain client relationships
  • Ability to create print-ready graphics
  • Understanding of three dimensional space and the built environment
  • Attention to detail and ability to develop / follow brand guidelines
  • Understanding and knowledge of industry standards in regards to materials and fabrication
  • Experience with environmental graphics, interactive media, and product prototyping
  • A skill set that includes being creative, curious, and spirited. A sense of humor!

This is a full time position with benefits that include 80% of healthcare costs, insurance, and matching 401k.

Schedule: M-Th 8am - 5pm and Fri 8am - 3pm.

10 "Summer Fridays" off between June and August.
