Job Description
A well-established employer is seeking an experienced Senior Payroll Specialist to manage biweekly payroll processing, multi-state payroll activities, incentive compensation, and related reconciliations. This role ensures payroll, deductions, taxes, benefits, bonuses, and incentive payments are processed accurately and in compliance with applicable regulations. The Senior Payroll Specialist will also analyze payroll and incentive data, resolve discrepancies, and serve as a resource for employees and managers. The ideal candidate brings strong payroll knowledge, analytical skills, attention to detail, and experience handling confidential financial and employee information.

Responsibilities:
  • Process accurate and timely biweekly payroll, including regular wages, overtime, PTO, bonuses, commissions, deductions, adjustments, off-cycle payments, and final pay.
  • Manage multi-state payroll activities while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local wage, hour, tax, and payroll requirements.
  • Reconcile payroll records, benefit invoices, deductions, tax information, and incentive payments while researching and resolving discrepancies.
  • Administer incentive compensation programs by analyzing performance data, calculating payouts, coordinating program information across departments, and responding to employee questions.
  • Support quarterly and annual payroll activities, including tax reconciliations, W-2 processing, garnishments, required documentation, audits, and payroll inquiries.

Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant payroll experience.
  • Minimum of 4 years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-state environment.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, wage and hour requirements, payroll taxes, deductions, benefits, and compliance.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work at a computer for extended periods; sit, stand, and move throughout an office as needed; and occasionally lift or move office materials weighing approximately 5–10 pounds.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or FPC (Fundamental Payroll Certification).
  • Experience using Paycor payroll systems.

The base pay range for this position is $65-75K excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation.
