This role is critical to improving equipment availability, maintenance efficiency, and cost control through highquality maintenance planning and work preparation.

The Maintenance Planner partners closely with Maintenance, Operations, and Reliability to ensure maintenance work is clearly defined, properly planned, fully resourced, and ready for safe and effective execution.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance Work Planning & Scoping

  • Review maintenance work requests to ensure scope, priority, and authorization are clear and achievable
  • Conduct field walkdowns to validate job scope, safety requirements, access constraints, and execution readiness
  • Work with Operations, Maintenance, and Reliability to clarify equipment issues and desired outcomes

Job Plans & Work Packages

  • Develop detailed job plans including task steps, sequence, labor skills, duration estimates, tools, safety requirements, and execution notes
  • Create complete work packages with drawings, procedures, vendor documentation, permits, and special instructions as needed
  • Ensure job plans support safe, efficient, and repeatable maintenance execution

Materials, Services & Readiness

  • Identify required parts, materials, consumables, tools, and outside services
  • Input into procurement so materials and services are available before work is scheduled

  • Facilitate return of unused materials and capture execution feedback
  • Update job plans, task lists, and documentation based on lessons learned

Asset Data & Preventive Maintenance Support

  • Maintain accuracy of equipment records, bills of material, and maintenance task information
  • Support development and continuous improvement of preventive maintenance plans
  • Identify documentation gaps and initiate updates to drawings, procedures, and asset data

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing or process environment supporting maintenance activities
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical maintenance practices; exposure to controls or instrumentation planning is a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, prioritize, and estimate maintenance work
