Job Description

Experian is looking for a team-oriented attorney to provide legal support for Experian's North American consumer services business, Experian Consumer Services, headquartered in Costa Mesa, California. You will report to the SVP, Head of Legal - Consumer Services in the North America Law Department.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide legal support for day-to-day operations of Experian Consumer Services (ECS), a $1.7B+ business serving 80M+ consumer members
  • Advise on a broad range of legal matters across financial wellness, credit education, and identity protection products
  • Assess and interpret existing and emerging laws and regulations, including financial services, consumer protection, and data privacy
  • Conduct legal risk assessments and regulatory reviews for new products, features, and marketing initiatives
  • Support development and launch of innovative consumer products such as Experian Boost, Smart Money Digital Checking, Experian Go, and Insurance Services
  • Draft, review, and negotiate complex agreements, including strategic alliances, FinTech partnerships, and financial services contracts
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on the evolving legal and regulatory landscape impacting digital consumer financial services
  • Partner closely with business leaders, general managers, and cross-functional teams to provide proactive, solution-oriented legal guidance
  • Contribute to a high-impact team focused on delivering financial empowerment and innovation
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of relevant legal experience in a large law firm and/or in-house setting
  • Experience with financial services and FinTech regulations and/or transactions
  • The highest standards and diligence in handling legal matters
  • Experience in handling matters for highly regulated industries
  • Experience developing practical strategies for complex business issues
  • JD degree and license to practice law in relevant jurisdictions
