Pay Range: $25.59-$29.00.  Step 2, Classified Framework.

Summary
The Assistant Coordinator, Expanded Learning serves as direct administrative support to the Aftercare Coordinator/Director and may serve as second in charge in the absence of the Aftercare Coordinator/Director. The Assistant Coordinator plays a role as a mentor, tutor, activity leader, and sports coach. The Assistant Coordinator also plans and coordinates the curriculum and provides outreach and communication to families.
 
About High Tech High Developed by a coalition of San Diego civic leaders and educators, High Tech High (“HTH”) opened in September 2000 as a small public project-based charter school with plans to serve approximately 450 students. HTH has evolved into an integrated network of sixteen charter schools serving approximately 6,500 students in grades K-12 across four San Diego County campuses (Point Loma, Clairemont, North County, and Chula Vista). The HTH organization also includes a comprehensive adult learning environment including a Teacher Credentialing Program and the High Tech High Graduate School of Education, offering professional development opportunities serving national and international educators. 
 
Job Function/Description High Tech High Expanded Learning Programs are an important element of the school day experience. The Assistant Coordinator of Expanded Learning plays a unique role as a mentor, tutor, activity leader, and sports coach. In addition to providing a safe and quiet place for students to receive extra tutoring, our program also offers enrichment opportunities. The Assistant Coordinator of Expanded Learning plans and coordinates curriculum, provides outreach and communication to families, serves as a direct administrative support to the Aftercare Coordinator/Director, and may serve as second in charge in the absence of the Aftercare Coordinator/Director. Duties include, but are not limited to: 
● Provide outreach and communication to families 
● Serve as a direct administrative support to the Aftercare Coordinator/Director
● May serve as second in charge in the absence of the Aftercare Coordinator/Director
● Supervise school-aged children indoors and outdoors
● Maintain an orderly, safe, and organized environment for the students 
● Take attendance to ensure all students are accounted for
 ● Plan, develop, and facilitate engaging student activities 
● Assist students with learning activities and homework assignments 
● Understand and implement emergency procedures, including safety protocols 
● Perform related duties as assigned

● Comfortable leading academic and enrichment activities with students 
● Inform and communicate effectively 
● Ability to work with diverse population
