The Director develops and implements HR systems, policies, and practices that support the organization's mission, workforce effectiveness, compliance obligations, and organizational culture. This position serves as a key advisor to executive leadership and partners with school and department leaders to recruit, develop, support, and retain high-performing employees

The Director of Human Resources oversees all aspects of employee relations, recruitment and retention, compensation and benefits administration, performance management, labor and employment compliance, HR technology systems, and organizational development. The Director of Human Resources reports to the Chief Operations Officer and supervises Human Resources staff. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES Strategic Human Resources Leadership Develop and implement human resources strategies aligned with organizational goals and priorities.

Serve as a strategic advisor to executive leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, employee engagement, and talent management. Lead initiatives that strengthen organizational culture, employee satisfaction, and retention. Monitor HR metrics and workforce trends to inform organizational decision-making.

Support succession planning and leadership development initiatives. Develop and manage the Human Resources department budget and oversee HR-related vendor relationships and contracts. Recruitment and Talent Acquisition Oversee recruitment, selection, hiring, and onboarding processes for all positions.

Develop strategies to attract and retain highly qualified employees. Ensure equitable and legally compliant hiring practices. Monitor s Requirements / Qualifications QUALIFICATIONS Experience/Training/Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Public Administration, Organizational Leadership, or a related field.

PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification. Minimum of 5 years of Human Resources experience, with at least 3 years of experience as a Human Resources Manager, is required Experience managing employee relations, investigations, compliance, and HR operations. Experience in educational, nonprofit, public sector, or charter school environments preferred.

Experience with Paycom or similar HRIS platforms. Experience supporting multi-site organizations. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal communication, written communication, and coaching skills Ability to think critically and possession of strong analytical skills Ability to make decisions quickly; able to course correct when an alternate path is more effective Ability to interact effectively with company executives and employees Commitment to ethical behavior at all levels of the organization Strong understanding of federal/state/local employment and wage and hour laws and regulations Ability to build and lead collaborative, coordinated, and supportive relationships Demonstrate agility, flexibility and innovation when faced with ambiguity Tenacity and a willingness to go above and beyond to achieve the organization's goals and mission Respect for the team and the communities ISANA Academies serves Passion for improving K-12 public education Physical and Environmental Elements: This is primarily a sedentary office classification in an office environment with moderate noise levels and controlled temperature conditions, involving long periods of time sitting.

The position occasionally bends, stoops, reaches, pushes, and pulls drawers to retrieve and file information and lifts and carries reports that typically weigh less than 25 pounds. The position requires the ability to drive a vehicle, to obtain and maintain car insurance, and to occasionally travel by train, plane, or other means outside of the Los Angeles area.
