Description

ESC is seeking a highly experienced Senior Functional Analyst to support the analysis of complex business and technical requirements and translate user needs into effective functional solutions. The Senior Functional Analyst will work closely with stakeholders, technical teams, and support personnel to understand operational needs, define functional and cross-functional requirements, and ensure that resources and tasks are appropriately aligned to achieve program objectives.

This position will support the Functional Lead/Functional Subject Matter Expert and may provide supervision and direction to support staff, making strong leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze user needs, business processes, and operational requirements to identify and document functional and cross-functional requirements.
  • Work with users and stakeholders to understand business objectives, processes, challenges, and desired system capabilities.
  • Perform functional allocation to identify required tasks, activities, and their interrelationships.
  • Identify and evaluate the resources required to accomplish assigned tasks and meet program objectives.
  • Translate user needs and business requirements into clear, actionable functional requirements and recommendations.
  • Analyze business processes and identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiencies, and enhanced system functionality.
  • Coordinate with technical teams to ensure functional requirements are clearly understood and properly implemented.
  • Support the development, review, and validation of system and process requirements.
  • Identify dependencies, risks, resource requirements, and potential impacts associated with functional and cross-functional activities.
  • Provide recommendations to management and stakeholders based on functional and business analysis.
  • Provide daily supervision, guidance, and direction to junior staff as directed by the Functional Analyst Lead/SME.
  • Promote effective communication and collaboration among support staff, users, stakeholders, and technical teams.
  • Monitor assigned activities to ensure requirements, milestones, and deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Prepare and review functional documentation, reports, briefings, and other program deliverables as required.
  • Support ongoing system sustainment, process improvement, and operational activities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Active Secret security clearance is required.
  • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from an accredited institution.
  • At least 10 years of relevant professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience performing functional and business analysis.
  • Experience analyzing user needs and developing functional and cross-functional requirements.
  • Experience identifying task dependencies, resource requirements, and functional relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with users, technical personnel, management, and other stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including the ability to supervise and provide direction to support personnel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience supporting U.S. Government or Department of Defense programs.
  • Experience working in enterprise IT, logistics, business systems, or other complex operational environments.
  • Experience with requirements management, process improvement, and systems analysis.
  • Experience developing functional documentation, briefings, and program reports.
  • Ability to work independently while effectively leading and coordinating support personnel.

Salary Range: $90,000+
