Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tableau Developer with strong expertise in designing, developing, and optimizing Tableau dashboards and reports. The candidate will be responsible for translating complex business requirements into interactive visualizations and actionable insights. The role demands proficiency in data modeling, SQL/MDX queries, performance optimization, and the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams.
Key Responsibilities
  • Dashboard & Report Development
    • Design, develop, and deliver Tableau dashboards, reports, and visualizations aligned with business needs.
    • Create user-friendly, interactive workbooks that present data insights effectively.
  • Data Integration & Querying
    • Connect Tableau with multiple data sources including databases, spreadsheets, and APIs.
    • Write and optimize complex SQL and MDX queries to extract, transform, and present data.
  • Data Modeling & Optimization
    • Build and optimize data models for efficient Tableau performance.
    • Ensure data consistency, accuracy, and scalability across reporting layers.
    • Collaborate with data engineers to improve database performance for analytics workloads.
  • Analysis & Insights
    • Perform data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies.
    • Translate raw data into business insights and recommendations through effective visualization.
  • Testing & Troubleshooting
    • Conduct unit testing, integration testing, and performance validation for Tableau applications.
    • Troubleshoot issues with data connections, dashboard performance, and visualization rendering.
  • User Support & Training
    • Provide end-user support for Tableau dashboards and reports.
    • Train business users on how to navigate and use Tableau effectively.
    • Document processes, queries, and visualization standards.
Required Skills & Experience
  • 8-10 years of IT experience, with at least 5+ years in Tableau development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Tableau Desktop, Tableau Server, and Tableau Online.
    • SQL & MDX queries for complex data extraction and transformations.
    • Connecting Tableau to multiple sources (databases, APIs, spreadsheets).
  • Proven expertise in designing scalable, high-performing dashboards.
  • Experience in data modeling, schema design, and database optimization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to derive actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with business stakeholders and technical teams.
Preferred Skills
  • Knowledge of Tableau Prep for data preparation and cleansing.
  • Experience with ETL tools and data pipelines.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) for data integration.
  • Exposure to agile methodologies for project delivery.
