Job description

The Opportunity:

The Account Executive will serve as a partner to Client Executives, Business Development Executives, and service team members acting as a strategic advisor for an assigned existing book of existing and prospective new clients. This position responsibilities will primarily entail the management of the Property/Casualty brokerage process, and maintain relationships with Hylant Toyotsu's insurance carrier partners.

In This Role You Will Execute On:

  • Handling the "core" Property/Casualty lines of coverage consisting of Property, Machinery Breakdown, General Liability, Automobile, Workers Compensation, Umbrella, Marine Cargo/Transit, and Foreign Package
  • Coordinate and oversee international placements for any "Foreign Master Control" programs where required
  • Working in conjunction with Client Executive and Client Service Executive, support development of Renewal Strategy Planning Reports, as well as Renewal Proposals (including participation in meetings/presentations where requested); this will require clear communication within the team to set timelines for various tasks and work together to achieve the optimal outcome in striving to meet the clients' needs
  • Strengthen the firm's relationships with existing clients and drive continuous improvements with an ultimate focus on business retention and growth. This will include providing direct consultation to clients on coverage questions when deemed appropriate.
  • Assist client service team with input as needed on various tasks including feedback on questions involving binder reviews, policy checks, audit reviews, billing matters, and other miscellaneous issues
  • Assist with providing information and support as needed on client claim matters
  • Conduct policy/program reviews of existing prospective client policies, providing feedback to the production team on suggested improvements in coverage, price, and program structure
  • Participate in answering sections of written "Request for Proposal" (RFP) responses as assigned by the production team and management
  • Participate in oral presentations for responses to RFP's - including face-to-face meetings as deemed necessary
  • For new business won, conduct the brokerage placement process on "core" lines of coverage for the new client
  • Represent Hylant Toyotsu at trade and industry events.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

In This Role You Will Need:

  • Bachelor's degree business, insurance, risk management, or similar field of study. Equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.
  • Ten (10) or more years of sales and/or service experience in the insurance industry.
  • Active Property & Casualty or Life & Health License
  • Advanced knowledge of insurance lines of coverage in the selected focus area (P&C)
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Working knowledge of Hylant's Agency Management System(s) (AMS).
  • CIC, CPCU, ARM or CRM designation preferred
  • Valid Resident State Driver's License required
  • Excellent attention to detail, oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability and willingness to travel by car or airplane for meetings, conferences, or other business-related functions.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
