Job Scope

The Program Manager leads new product introduction (NPI) and sustaining product programs, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with quality and customer objectives. Partnering closely with Product Management and cross-functional teams, this role drives execution of the Acumed Product Life Cycle (APLC) for U.S. and international products. The Program Manager also leads complex, business-critical initiatives, manages risks and dependencies, supports PMO best practices, and may provide leadership and mentoring to Project Managers.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Lead planning and execution of NPI and sustaining product programs through the APLC.
  • Manage project scope, schedules, budgets, resources, risks, and deliverables.
  • Prioritize projects and provide regular status updates to executive leadership.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure appropriate resourcing and successful product launches.
  • Monitor project costs, financial performance, and key performance metrics.
  • Lead executive project review meetings and drive accountability across programs.
  • Improve project management processes, tools, and best practices within the PMO.
  • Support development and maintenance of APLC SOPs, work instructions, and related documentation.
  • Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence across the project management function.
  • May mentor, develop, and provide functional leadership to Project Managers.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, or related technical degree preferred. MBA is a plus.
  • Strong preference for experience leading new product development programs within the medical device industry, including a strong understanding of Design Controls and regulated product development processes.
  • Orthopedic medical device product development and commercialization experience strongly preferred.
  • 6-8 years of project management experience in new product development and/or manufacturing, including at least 3 years in medical devices or a related industry.
  • Demonstrated experience leading project or program managers and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience managing project budgets, development costs, and executive reporting.
  • PMP certification required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Project (or similar project management software) and SAP.
  • Knowledge of finance, product commercialization, and product launch processes.
  • Strong business acumen, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal direction while driving projects to successful completion.
