Nature of Work:

This position performs duties associated with prospecting, developing new and existing customer accounts, including traveling to visit accounts and prospects, value add selling and gathering/documenting competitive intelligence. The Sales Executive focuses on building customer and prospect rapport through skilled communication and follow-up, networking, and trade shows.

Examples of Work:

¨ Prospects and Develops new business.

¨ Sets appointments and calls on customers at the decision-maker level; Engineers, Production Managers, Senior Buyer, Buyer, Assistant Buyer and purchasing manager level.

¨ Thorough understanding of the industry dynamics.

¨ Sells within a competitive environment.

¨ Travels to visit customers and prospects on a regular basis (30-40% of time on average).

¨ Attends industry trade shows and selected market buyer/seller collaborative events as needed.

¨ Provides quotes to prospects and customers as needed within our acceptable profit parameters.

¨ Performs administrative functions for existing customers when necessary.

¨ Documents customer and prospect contacts on a weekly basis within provided automation programs.

¨ Manages, grows, and projects sales dollars within market responsibility.

¨ Performs project work such as Customer Competitive Analysis.

¨ Maintains current with technology, market trends, product needs and development.

¨ Identifies, qualifies and follows up on leads in a timely manner.

¨ Gathers Voice of customer data to support new product development and product improvement.

¨ Communicates Sales activity/forecasting on a monthly basis with management/production.

¨ Qualify customer/prospects needs and provides solutions consistent with MIC production capabilities.

¨ Effectively and persuasively communicates MIC value proposition

¨ Builds trust and rapport with prospects and customers through delivering upon commitments with a sense of urgency

¨ Performs other duties assigned by management.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

¨ Excellent organizational skills with proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

¨ Experience selling to the print, ink, coating, films or packaging industry.

¨ Effective communication skills both orally and in writing.

¨ Strong interpersonal relationship skills; ability to establish and maintain rapport with customer.

¨ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others, both internal and external.

¨ Self-motivated; ability to make required number of prospect contacts each day, maintain communication and execute tasks while traveling.

¨ Strong problem-solving skills; selling value added products and services in a competitive environment.

¨ Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.

¨ Solid time management skills that allow the individual to schedule their time to meet new business growth objectives.

¨ Experience using structured selling systems.

¨ Strong computer skills: MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, mobile connectivity)

¨ Proven success selling products in a highly competitive environment.

¨ Ability to work extended hours as needed.

¨ Ability to travel overnight frequently.

Minimum Qualifications:

¨ Training:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications or related field preferred.

¨ Experience:
Minimum 3-5 years' experience in a successful selling role working in inks and coatings industry or similar field preferred.
