Executive Development information

What is executive development?

Executive development refers to the process of preparing and enhancing the skills, knowledge, and abilities of individuals in leadership positions within an organization. This can involve formal training programs, coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job experiences designed to help executives lead more effectively. The goal is to ensure that leaders are equipped to drive organizational success, adapt to changing business environments, and manage teams efficiently. Executive development is crucial for succession planning and maintaining a competitive edge in the market.

What jobs make $3,000 a day?

High-level executive roles such as CEOs, CFOs, and other C-suite executives often earn $3,000 or more per day through salaries, bonuses, and stock options. Additionally, specialized professions like top-tier investment bankers, certain legal partners, and highly experienced consultants can reach this daily earning level, especially with significant experience, industry reputation, and advanced skills.

What are some typical challenges faced in an Executive Development role, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in Executive Development often encounter challenges such as aligning leadership programs with evolving organizational goals, engaging busy executives in ongoing learning, and measuring the impact of development initiatives. To address these, it’s important to maintain strong communication with senior leaders, tailor programs to specific business needs, and use robust metrics to track outcomes. Collaborating closely with HR, business unit leaders, and external partners can also help ensure initiatives remain relevant and effective.

What is the 3 month rule for jobs?

The 3 month rule in executive development typically refers to the expectation that new executives or employees should demonstrate measurable progress or achieve specific goals within the first three months of their role. This period is often used for onboarding, training, and initial performance assessments to ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

While both roles aim to enhance workforce capabilities, their target audiences and work environments differ significantly.

What jobs pay $500,000 a year in the US?

Executive roles such as CEOs, CFOs, and other C-suite executives often earn $500,000 or more annually, especially in large corporations. High-level investment bankers, successful entrepreneurs, and certain specialized medical professionals can also reach this income level, typically requiring extensive experience, advanced skills, and leadership responsibilities.

What jobs will no longer exist in 2030?

In 2030, roles that are highly repetitive and manual, such as data entry clerks and certain assembly line positions, are expected to decline due to automation and AI advancements. Executive development professionals may see shifts toward roles emphasizing strategic thinking, leadership, and digital skills as organizations adapt to technological changes.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in Executive Development, and why are they important?

To excel in Executive Development, you need a strong background in leadership theory, talent management, and organizational behavior, often supported by a degree in business or human resources. Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS), assessment tools, and certifications such as SHRM or HRCI is highly beneficial. Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and relationship-building skills help drive effective leadership programs and foster executive growth. These capabilities are crucial for shaping future leaders, aligning talent strategies with business goals, and ensuring long-term organizational success.

Ready to level-up your career at the company leading workforce transformation in the agentic era? You're in the right place! Agentforce is the future of AI, and you are the future of Salesforce.

The Experience
The Agentic Talent Development team at Salesforce is building a modern leadership growth and succession ecosystem that moves beyond traditional succession planning toward a dynamic, data-driven system that continuously identifies, develops, and retains enterprise leadership talent. As the Director, Agentic Leadership Growth & Succession, you will own the enterprise strategy for leadership readiness, succession acceleration, and leadership mobility - translating talent intelligence into targeted actions that build bench strength, reduce succession risk, and strengthen Salesforce's long-term organizational capability. This is a hybrid role with three days in office each week.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

  • Define and evolve Salesforce's enterprise strategy for leadership readiness and succession acceleration, translating talent review, workforce planning, and business strategy insights into targeted leadership growth investments across Director through executive populations.

  • Own and scale the enterprise leadership acceleration portfolio, including rotational programs, strategic stretch assignments, and mobility mechanisms that connect high-potential and successor talent to experiences that increase scope, complexity, and enterprise exposure.

  • Leverage talent intelligence, succession analytics, and AI-enabled tools to identify future leadership opportunities and risks, improve internal mobility, and scale personalized in-flow development experiences aligned to succession priorities.

  • Define and own success metrics tied to leadership readiness, succession health, retention, and bench strength - partnering with Workforce Planning and Talent teams to anticipate future capability requirements and inform executive talent decisions.

You're Our Person If...

  • You have 10+ years of experience leading leadership development, succession strategy, talent acceleration, or executive development in large global organizations, with proven success translating talent intelligence into measurable business outcomes.

  • You have deep experience designing enterprise talent systems that accelerate leadership readiness, mobility, and retention across Director, Senior Director, Vice President, and executive populations.

  • You have experience integrating AI-enabled coaching, talent intelligence, or career growth technologies into leadership ecosystems, with strong understanding of succession planning, workforce strategy, and leadership pipeline management.

  • You have demonstrated ability to influence senior executives and lead cross-functional talent transformation initiatives, with strong systems-thinking and strategic planning capabilities.

Even Better If...

  • You have experience working within a large technology company navigating organizational transformation or workforce redesign.

  • You are familiar with AI-enabled talent platforms, coaching tools, or career marketplace technologies.

  • You have demonstrated curiosity about the future of work, workforce transformation, and the evolving role of AI in leadership development.

  • You bring strong executive presence and experience presenting to C-suite or senior leadership audiences.
