Our Assistant Project Manager works with our West Business Unit and will be located in Southern California with the ability to travel to client sites on a weekly basis. The Assistant Project Manager who supports our Project Manager in short and long-term project goals while ensuring client satisfaction. Target Salary: $80,000 - $100,000+ dependent on experience.

Assistant Project Manager Responsibilities

  • Supports project team (project manager, site superintendent, etc.) with the implementation of contractual scopes of work including but not limited to site visits for customer meetings, subcontractor coordination, and pre-construction walks.
  • Development and maintenance of preconstruction, construction, and closeout execution plans, including project subcontract creation and equipment procurement purchase orders. Coordinates review and approval from Project Manager and communicates this information to the project team.
  • Support the maintenance of project schedules, including targeted and actual activities lists, durations, and sequencing logic and communicates this information to the project team.
  • Prepare Monthly Status Reports
  • Interact with clients on assigned projects and promote positive relationships
  • Review all shop drawings and submittals and ensure that the submittals and shop drawings are in conformance with the design prior to submission to the design professional.
  • Complete close-out requirements and turnover documents
  • Change control documentation and related financial documentation.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of contractually required quality in design and construction and supports quality assurance for the project.
  • Develop a working knowledge of the project budget and identifies exceptions to the project budget throughout the execution of the project; monitor and report project costs.
  • Support documentation of projects including appropriately saving all project specific information, emails, pictures are saved to the company server on a regular basis.

Assistant Project Manager Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in construction management/related field.
  • 2+ years of demonstrated hands-on experience in construction projects a plus.
  • Experience working in environments with multiple stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of construction technology, construction management, and MS Project -Procore, Blue Beam a plus.
  • Either hold or obtain OSHA30 certification (at our expense) within one year.
  • Must pass background check, drug test and DOJ Live Scan.
  • Valid driver’s license
