Job description

Prepare accurate estimates, secure new projects, manage change orders, and assist project managers through each phase of work. You should be comfortable working in the office, reading plans, bidding on your own, and coordinating with project managers and field staff.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare complete electrical estimates for commercial and public works projects
  • Perform quantity takeoffs from plans and specifications
  • Build bids using Accubid or Trimble Estimation
  • Review drawings and specs for scope gaps and risks
  • Coordinate pricing with vendors and suppliers
  • Submit bids and track results
  • Manage and price change orders on active projects
  • Assist project managers with cost tracking, vendor coordination, and RFIs/submittals as needed
  • Support turnover from estimating to operations

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of electrical estimating experience (commercial preferred)
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience preparing complete estimates independently
  • Experience pricing and managing change orders
  • Strong communication with internal teams and vendors
  • Organized and detail-oriented

Preferred Qualifications

  • Public works or prevailing wage experience
  • Electrical field experience
  • Experience supporting project managers or running small jobs
  • Familiarity with local general contractors and bidding environments
