Specializing in design-build commercial and multifamily housing projects across California, CMD Electric offers comprehensive services supporting projects of any scale and procurement. Committed to assisting clients and partners in achieving both short and long-term goals, CMD Electric is dedicated to excellence in every project. 

We are seeking a motivated Electrical Assistant Project Manager (APM) to support the successful execution of large-scale commercial construction projects. The APM will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Field Teams to ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with quality and safety standards.


  • Support the Project Manager in coordinating all phases of the construction project lifecycle from pre-construction through close-out.
  • Assist with project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, change orders, meeting minutes, and schedules.
  • Track material orders and deliveries to ensure timely arrival on site.
  • Communicate with general contractors, vendors, suppliers, and internal field staff to maintain project progress.
  • Help monitor job cost tracking and forecasting in alignment with project budgets.
  • Attend job walks, project meetings, and coordination sessions.
  • Support the development and maintenance of project schedules.
  • Assist with quality control processes and ensure safety standards are being met on the jobsite.
  • Contribute to punch list tracking and project close-out procedures.

  • Similar work electrical experience in APM role preferred or strong electrical experience in a PE role looking for career advancement.
  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial electrical construction preferred.
  • Knowledge of construction documents, specifications, and codes.
  • Familiarity with electrical systems and terminology.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction software is a plus.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with a strong attention to detail.
  • Team player with a desire to learn and grow in the electrical construction industry.
