Job Description
Truckee Meadows Community College, located in Reno Nevada, seeks an Administrative Assistant for the Facilities and Campus Operations Division. This position reports to the Executive Assistant, and will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Facilities Operations and staff by providing full coverage of the Facilities Services Office Front Desk by attending to customers, answering and transferring incoming calls as needed. Creates and processes work orders for different needs at all at all college locations: (Dandini Campus, William N. Pennington Applied Technology Center, William N. Pennington Health Science Center, and Meadowood Center).
The Administrative Assistant in Facilities Operations provides vital administrative support to the Facilities department. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the department's administrative functions. The Administrative Assistant is responsible for coordinating administrative tasks, facilitating communication, and assisting with various departmental processes.
Essential Qualifications
  • This position requires graduation from high school or equivalent education and three (3) years of progressively responsible relevant work experience which included experience in one or more of the following areas: maintenance of complex records and files; public/customer relations including explaining detailed policies, regulations and requirements; preparation and processing of financial and statistical documents such as payroll, travel, claims and budgeting forms; and assisting staff and management with projects and activities; OR
  • One (1) year of experience as an Administrative Assistant II in Nevada State service; OR
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above

This position requires knowledge of Google Calendar, Google Docs, Google Sheets/Excel, and Word.
Preferred Qualifications
Applicants with knowledge of Work Day (or similar ERP) are encouraged to apply.
Schedule
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
Compensation Grade
Grade 27 ($22.13/hr)
In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate's qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
