Job description

Overview

Airbus Commercial is looking for a Director - Propulsion Industrial Team to join our team in Cincinnati, Ohio. This role is responsible for performing on-the-ground tasks to support on-time delivery and quality of GE/CFM LEAP 1A propulsion systems from the supplier and their sub-tiers. Through readiness assessments of industrial capacity and capability to support current and future rates, the role consolidates the industrial risk outlook and mitigation actions.

The position is located in Cincinnati, Ohio, requiring local, national and international travel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Represent the Procurement Industrial management at the supplier site. Interact with the supplier at the executive level and manage the local Airbus team to enable LEAP 1A engine deliveries to Airbus.
  • Provide a clear status of the supply chain rate readiness and actions to address constraints and opportunities. Facilitate efficient communication between Airbus and the supplier on emerging issues and related actions.
  • Lead the onsite team in working with the supplier to proactively enable supply chain solutions, drive results and anticipate risks. Secure development and performance of the supply chain to protect engine deliveries at rate and in support of Airbus requirements.
Organization & Stakeholder Management
  • Collaborate with responsible Airbus employees across multiple functional organizations in the United States, Europe and suppliers. Ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions in support of Airbus targets.
  • Consolidate and maintain an outlook of key industrial, quality, supply chain, and Risks & Opportunities to drive action plans with supplier teams.
  • Manage multiple, complex supplier quality improvement projects with Airbus and supplier senior management. Organize recurring and executive reviews (Program Review Meetings, Industrial Quality Reviews, Assessments) at Airbus and supplier locations.
  • Provide timely communication to internal stakeholders on supplier status and risks; support quarterly supplier reviews and related governance.
Qualifications / Training
  • Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree in Aerospace Engineering or equivalent experience. PMI/Project Management Professional Certification and/or Airbus Project Management certification preferred.
  • Experience: 15 years of experience in aerospace or automotive industries in industrial planning, supply chain management, quality management, and continuous improvement. Knowledge of SI&OP, APQP, risk management, and Lean Six Sigma is desirable. Experience leading industrial capacity and quality assessments. Proficient with Google suite. Willingness to travel up to 50% domestically.
  • International capabilities: Ability to establish and lead a remote team located at a supplier; ability to interact effectively with senior leadership at suppliers and Airbus; ability to influence supplier positions and negotiate outcomes aligned with Airbus expectations; ability to produce independent data, analyses and reports; program management, budgeting and controls experience; risk management and mitigation experience; ability to develop KPIs to secure business results.
  • Physical requirements: Travel (car and plane), walk/stand/sit at supplier sites, communicate effectively, and work long hours at a computer.
  • ITAR: This position requires that the job holder be a US Person under ITAR definition (i.e. U.S. Citizen, green card holder or person covered under our existing ITAR license).
