The Multi-Channel Shopping (MCS) Tech team is a large, globally distributed engineering organization responsible for personalized shopping experiences across Expedia Group brands and lines of business that help travelers move from discovery tobooking. This Tech Program Manager III role is embedded within the Tech Leadership Team, running and evolving the cross-org operational programs - from developerproductivityand AI enablement to cost efficiency and leadership rhythms - that keepthe organizationaligned, efficient, andperforming.

In this role, you will:

  • Design and execute operational programsthat span across the subdivision- including developerproductivity, AI enablement initiatives, cloud cost optimization, site leader programs, hackathons, and engineering showcases - with clear charters, milestones, and success metrics

  • Operate and continuously improve the leadership operating cadence, includingtechnical health metric reviewsand architecture reviews;maintainagendas, track decisions, and ensure follow-through

  • Build andmaintainmetrics, dashboards, and clear narratives that give leaders a real-time view of program health, risks, and tradeoffs across the organization

  • Translate ambiguous leadership decisions and strategy into concrete plans, cadences, and communications, then drive day-to-day execution acrossthe org

  • Proactivelyidentifyand mitigate risks, coordinating with stakeholders toanticipate, surface, and escalate blockers before theyimpactprogram outcomes

  • Drive operational hygiene and change execution - including org structure,finance systems,and tooling hygiene - coordinating with HR, Finance, and platform partners

  • Support cross-org learning and engagement programs - including AI showcases, hackathons, builder events, and learning opportunities - that strengthen technical learning, cross-pollination, and recognition acrossthe team

  • Synthesize technical and business context into concise, audience-tailored communications for audiences ranging fromindividual contributorsto VP+ leadership

  • Design andmaintainlightweight playbooks, templates, and AI-assisted workflows that create self-service options and reduce operational friction for leaders and teams

  • Apply whole-systems thinking to assess bottlenecks in organizational processes,identifyefficiency opportunities, and drive continuous improvement across org boundaries

  • Build trusted cross-functional relationships withSenior Leaders, Finance, HRBP,Developer Relations, andCTO Officeto keep programs healthy and resolve misalignments early

Experience and Qualifications

Required

  • 4-6 years of experience in technical program management or program management in a technology-centric environment;Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field; or equivalent related professional experience

  • Demonstrated experience planning and executing cross-functional programs spanning multiple teams or functions

  • Comfortable operating in technical environments and collaborating closely with engineers

  • Proven ability to translate ambiguous ideas into concrete mechanisms - such as building new operating forums, standardizing workflows, or rolling out org-wide programs

  • Able to self-servedatafrom dashboards and BI tools, and translate into insights and recommendations for senior leaders

  • Proficient written and verbal communication skills,andexperiencefacilitatingworking sessions across diverse stakeholder groups

Preferred

  • Experience in aBizOps, chief of staff, or operations role supporting a technology leadership team

  • Hands-on experience using AI tools and agentic workflows to improve operational efficiency - including areas like reporting automation, communications drafting, or self-service tooling for teams

  • Working knowledge of Agile methodologies and the software development lifecycle in a technology organization

The total cash range for this position in Austin is $146,000.00 to $204,500.00. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $233,500.00, which is the top of the range, based on ongoing, demonstrated, and sustained performance in the role.The total cash range for this position in Seattle is $146,000.00 to $204,500.00.
