Job description

The Director of Corporate Events is responsible for strategic planning, execution, and hosting industry events that involve engagement and entertaining clients and partners, provide an amazing atmosphere and experience and highlight the culture of Learfield. This leader will oversee a comprehensive portfolio of events including managing industry conferences, industry event parties including the Final Four, and College Football Playoff, and other networking events throughout the year ensuring each event aligns with organizational goals and delivers an incredible experience.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Event Strategy & Planning
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive industry events strategy aligned with multiple different stakeholders within the company and their business objectives.
  • Identify opportunities for events that strengthen industry presence, deepen client and partner relationships, and drive business growth.
  • Manage an annual calendar of industry events, conferences, and hospitality experiences.

Event Execution
  • Oversee end-to-end planning and execution of events including venue selection, logistics, production, guest experience, and on-site management.
  • Ensure events reflect Learfield standards and deliver high-quality, memorable experiences.
  • Manage vendor relationships including production companies, venues, and hospitality partners.

Budget & Financial Management
  • Develop and manage event budgets, ensuring cost efficiency.
  • Negotiate contracts with venues, suppliers, and service providers.

Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with marketing, communications, sales, partnerships, and executive leadership to align event objectives with business priorities.
  • Support client engagement initiatives through events and hospitality programs.

Measurement & Reporting
  • Evaluate effectiveness through attendance metrics and business outcomes.
  • Provide post-event analysis and recommendations for future improvements.

Team Leadership
  • Lead the corporate events team and manage external agencies or contractors.
  • Foster a collaborative, detail-oriented, and service-focused event culture.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, event management, hospitality, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in corporate event management or experiential marketing.
  • Proven track record planning large-scale conferences, executive meetings, and client hospitality events.
  • Strong project management, organizational, and budgeting skills.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience negotiating contracts and managing vendors.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to travel.
