Job description

The Event Productions System Engineer role will own both the health and maintenance of technical production systems as well as the operational health of the production systems during events. Amazon Engine's Event Production team is searching for an innovative and solution-oriented Events Systems Engineer to be a part of the team producing high-profile, industry-leading production events.

The Events Systems Engineer will support the team to deliver events in Amazon venues with top-quality audio, lighting, video, and production technology, creating impactful customer experiences.
Our Event Systems Engineers operate live high-capacity events while managing and maintaining the health, quality, and reliability of all production systems and equipment within the venue, ensuring the success of each event. With technical autonomy, they engage with production teams to design, program, and execute events, transforming customers' ideas into exceptional experiences.
In this role, you'll serve as the subject matter expert (SME) for technical event productions with strong, deep systems knowledge across audio, video, and lighting

Providing onsite support, you'll continuously improve customer experiences, adapt to diverse event types, and flex with last-minute client needs and changes. You will perform planned and unplanned system maintenance overhauls ensuring flawless performance and long-term reliability. This system engineer role, specifically focused on lighting and video systems, will be in charge of the health and maintenance of the production systems as well as assisting with the planning and execution of unique, or non standard, events that require special configurations.
Successful candidates will have strong experience supporting large-scale productions of live onsite events

They have a deep understanding and background of the engineering systems and focus on providing hands-on technical problem solving in fast-paced environments. This is a full-time, 40/hr. week position with adaptive event hours (not necessarily normal business hours).

Travel throughout the domestic US would be expected approx. 35% of the time and potential travel to regional venues if needed.
Pre-Event:
Provide event setup coordination of assigned technical systems and recommendations for technical resource scheduling and labor script
Test and troubleshoot equipment use cases, evaluating risks to properly gauge and act on immediate optimum solutions, determining which cases need to be escalated to management
Create and implement systematic backups for production technologies, ensuring teams and clients understand backup procedures if a problem occurs
Event Execution:
Support and partner with Operational Engineers to solve current problems and proactively implement solutions to prevent issues before they occur
Quickly identify and resolve problems, escalating complex issues to management maintaining production stability
Effectively and quickly troubleshoot, identifying root cause, evaluating risks and acting on immediate solutions to properly gauge optimum solutions for the best quality attainable
Post-Event:
Assist with strike of event space(s), ensuring correct equipment handling and storage
Participate in post-event feedback, discussions, and surveys
