Job description

Providence Hall is a charter school located in Herriman UT. Central to the school's mission is teaching students to think critically, communicate effectively, and act responsibly. Students at the high school engage in classes that prepare them for college and career readiness through the AP scholars program, concurrent enrollment, and CTE.
Providence Hall is seeking a part-time seasonal as needed High School (9th-12th) Athletics Event Support Staff to assist with various athletic events throughout the school year. This position plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of home sporting events by providing support in areas such as gate admissions, scorekeeping, event setup, and other duties as assigned.
Schedule:
  • Seasonal, As Needed
  • Work is performed primarily at the high school gymnasium, athletic fields, and other sporting venues.
  • Hours vary depending on athletic schedules (typically after school, evenings, and weekends).

Responsibilities:
  • Gate Admissions: Greet spectators, collect admission fees, and provide wristbands, tickets, or hand stamps.
    Scorekeeping & Timing: Operate scoreboards, maintain official scorebooks, and assist with announcing when needed.
  • Event Setup & Take-down: Help set up equipment, signage, and seating before events; assist with clean-up after events.
  • Crowd & Venue Support: Provide directions to guests, maintain a safe and welcoming environment, and communicate with school staff regarding any issues.
  • Concessions Assistance (if assigned): Support concession stand operations by preparing and selling food/beverages.
  • Other Duties as Assigned: May include photography, running errands during events, or helping with team needs.

Qualifications:
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor.
    Ability to work evenings and weekends during scheduled athletic events.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work well with students, parents, coaches, and community members.
  • Basic knowledge of high school sports preferred, but not required (training provided).
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check, including criminal history, and professional references as a condition of employment
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds, traverse school facilities, and lead students to safety in the event of an emergency
