Responsibilities

Altour has an exciting opportunity with our Event Technology team for a qualified and experienced Event Technology Manager! This role has strategic importance and high accountability due to the business-critical impact on the sales force, our customers and the company contribution to profitability. 

This role will be responsible for the strategic planning, content oversight, build-out and implementation of ALTOUR event technology solutions for meetings, incentives, conferences and events. This includes online registration, email campaigns, mobile applications, onsite technology solutions, virtual solutions, and system integrations.  They will manage the day-to-day plan of action for assigned programs with a technology component, including project timelines, client communication, internal coordination, quality control, and onsite and/or virtual execution and serve as a primary client-facing technology partner, guiding best practices and ensuring exceptional delivery across all event technology touchpoints.  

Day to Day Responsibilities:

Reports to Manager, Digital Design and works directly with Strategic Account Team Leads.

  • Act as a liaison and trusted advisor to guide clients through all technology services, providing best-practice recommendations aligned with reporting, functionality, and business objectives.
  • Manage end-to-end event technology support from initial planning and build phase through onsite or virtual execution.
  • Create, manage, and adhere to project timelines, scope, and processes for assigned programs. Manage the build-out of the event technology design plan in the following areas:
    • Registration Websites
    • Email Campaigns
    • API Integrations
    • Mobile Apps
    • OnSite Technology Solutions
    • Virtual Technology Solutions
  • Assist clients in developing, writing, editing, and approving content for registration websites, virtual platforms, mobile apps, email campaigns, and any communications.
  • Create or source, secure and establish rights for all visual content including photography, graphics, illustration and video.
  • Work with Meeting Planning and Support services team to create impactful and exceptionally designed event technology platforms that engage, inform and equip participants for an exceptional event experience.
  • Work with technology suppliers, developers, graphic designers and coders for the seamless execution and implementation of event technology; including registration websites, event email communications, onsite technology solutions, virtual technology solutions and mobile apps.
  • Collaborate in a team environment.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives and internal best practices.
  • Demonstrate discretion, independent judgment, and adaptability in complex or high-pressure situations.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:                 

  • Related experience or education in hospitality, meeting, incentive, conference and event industries
  • Strong interest in technology, desire to stay current in event technology offerings and developments, and ability to adapt to new technologies quickly
  • Experience with event technology solutions or comparable technology platforms.
  • Strong writing, proof reading and communication skills
  • A creative and design-oriented mind
  • Ability to maintain strong relationships with internal team members, clients, and vendors
  • Ability to work well independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
  • Strong work ethic, as well as strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong customer service focus

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Community College or Technology Institute education

Physical Requirements:

  • Approximately - less than 5% overnight travel
  • Must be able to work weekends and nights during travel periods of program operation or client meetings.
