Indiana University (IU) Event Services is Bloomington's leading provider of guest services staffing for sports, academic, and entertainment events. Our service model strives to create positive experiences for our guests and a fun, high-energy environment for our staff. IU Event Services events are aligned with the vision and goals of Indiana University, bringing with us the philosophy that every event must be created with our guests in mind.
Job Summary
  • Provides exceptional customer service to every guest they encounter to ensure a positive and welcoming experience.
  • Takes on any position including (but not limited to); scanning tickets, guest seating, and assisting in VIP hospitality areas.
  • Assists patrons with accessibility needs.
  • Oversees crowd management to ensure a safe experience for all guests.
  • Understands venue layouts and provides directional assistance to guests.

EDUCATION
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent (such as HSED or GED)
WORK EXPERIENCE

Working Conditions / Demands
This role regularly requires the ability to effectively communicate. This role frequently requires the ability to handle equipment. This role frequently requires the ability to remain stationary and ascend/descend ladders/stairs. This role requires the ability to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. The role requires the ability to detect items in proximity as well as far away; discern between colors; detect objects in peripheral space of self; discern items in detail; and to have good depth perception. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without accommodation.

Advertised Salary
$12.00 - $12.25 per hour, based on event type.
Paid incentives offered throughout the calendar year to incentivize attendance at various major events.
Work Hours
Up to 29 hours per week.
Shift times vary. Many shifts are on weeknight evenings or weekends.
Employees have the flexibility to create their own work schedules based on available events. Management may provide certain schedule requirements employees are expected to meet (i.e. working 5 out of 7 home IU Football games).
