Job Title - Transportation / Highway Project Manager

Are you motivated, energetic and connected with the Transportation Engineering industry practices? Do you take pride in bringing transportation concepts to life improving people's livelihoods? If you are answering yes, you may be an ideal candidate for this position as we are looking for a talented and ambitious Transportation Project Manager in our West Palm Beach office. The successful candidate will be well versed in transportation design and project management with entities throughout the state of Florida. You will provide leadership and engineering expertise on highway projects including roadway studies and design, drainage and utility systems, preliminary and final design, and preparation of construction documents.
What You Will Be Doing:
  • Plan, manage, and lead multi-disciplinary transportation projects, ranging from local roads to complex highways, including limited access facilities and interchanges.
  • Lead, direct, and mentor design staff on transportation projects, including plan development for a comprehensive range of transportation design projects such as horizontal and vertical geometry, cross sections, earthwork modeling, 3D roadway modeling, quantities calculations, construction specifications, and utility coordination.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources, overseeing scope, schedule, and QA/QC to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery.
  • Oversee project components such as plan development, quantity calculations, specifications package, permits, and utility coordination.
  • Assist with resource management and provide hiring recommendations.
  • Serve as the client liaison, building strong relationships, resolving issues, and securing approvals to ensure successful project completion.
  • Support marketing efforts by identifying opportunities and assisting with strategy development.
  • Participate in project pursuits developing proposals, scopes, and fee estimates. Participate in interviews, presentations, and negotiations.
  • Represent the company at public meetings, conferences, interviews, and industry events.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Florida Professional Engineer (PE) license.
  • A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of Project Management experience on roadway design projects.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work both independently and as part of a project team to complete tasks.
  • Proven leadership, communication, collaboration, teamwork, and mentoring skills.
  • Proficient in virtual collaboration tools such as Bluebeam, Word, Excel, Power Point, and Teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Established relationships with Florida Department of Transportation and other government agencies in South Florida.
  • Strong knowledge of what it takes to implement a roadway concept, including Florida Department of Transportation processes, roadway planning and design practices, plan preparation requirements, standards and specifications.
  • Working knowledge of roadway design software to prepare / review files in Autodesk Civil 3D and Bentley Open Roads Designer (ORD).
  • Experience in multidisciplinary projects, such as site development, railroads, transit, airports, ports, etc.
  • Experience in projects with different components such as signalization, lighting, ITS, structures, etc.
