Sommaire
Sous la responsabilite du directeur, le Surintendant(e) sera charge d'organiser les equipes et l'equipement, d'attribuer aux travailleurs les taches selon les projets en cours, dans le domaine du Genie civil et voirie. Planifier les besoins en main d'uvre en collaboration avec le charge de projet et assurer le suivi des besoins selon l'echeancier.

Description du poste

Communications:

  • Planifier, organiser et coordonner l'execution des differents travaux a realiser sur le chantier de construction.
  • Lire et analyser les documents contractuels, soit les plans, devis, directives, demandes de changements, notes au contremaitre et autres documents contractuels.
  • Comprendre la portee du travail et les impacts sur l'environnement physique et humain autour du chantier.
  • Respecter l'echeancier du projet etabli en confirmant les etapes importantes avec le charge de projet.
  • Coordonner les travaux des differents intervenants en etablissant la sequence de travail, en la communicant clairement et en effectuant des reunions de coordination au besoin.
  • Organiser le chantier en collaboration avec le charge(e) de projet en planifiant les acces temporaires, les aires de roulottes et toilettes, les aires d'entreposage et de dechargement et le materiel requis.
  • Realiser le rapport hebdomadaire en repertoriant les presences, les activites realisees, les evenements significatifs ou problematiques et la meteo.

Nous recherchons un(e) candidat(e) qui possede

  • 5 ans et plus d'experience pertinente sur des chantiers de construction.
  • Lire et comprendre les plans et devis.
  • Etre familier avec le CCDG et le devis normalise de la Ville de Gatineau.
  • Attitude professionnelle et adaptation rapide aux realites du chantier.
  • Proactif et apte a gerer plusieurs priorites.
  • Excellente communication avec plusieurs intervenants.
  • Souci du travail bien fait et de la qualite.
  • Planifier et organiser les travaux au jour le jour.
  • Respecte les regles, procedures et methodes de travail.
  • Capable de gerer la pression, les imprevus et les delais.
  • Bonne connaissance des regles de sante et securite.
  • Bilingue francais / anglais.
  • Certificat de competences de la CCQ (un atout).
  • Cours ASP construction obligatoire.
  • Permis de conduire classe 5 valide.

Superintendent

SUMMARY
Reporting into the Director, the Superintendent will be responsible for organizing teams and equipment and assigning tasks to workers based on ongoing projects within the Civil Engineering and Roadwork sector. The Superintendent will also plan labor requirements in collaboration with the Project Manager and monitor needs according to the project schedule.

PRIMARY SCOPE OF ROLE

Communications & Operations:

  • Plan, organize, and coordinate the execution of various tasks to be completed on the construction site.
  • Read and analyze contractual documents, including plans, specifications, directives, change orders, notes to the foreperson, and other contract documents.
  • Understand the scope of work and its impact on the physical and human environment surrounding the job site.
  • Adhere to the established project schedule by confirming key milestones with the Project Manager.
  • Coordinate the work of various stakeholders by establishing the sequence of work, communicating it clearly, and holding coordination meetings as needed.
  • Organize the job site in collaboration with the Project Manager by planning temporary access, trailer and restroom areas, storage and unloading zones, and required equipment.
  • Complete the weekly report by documenting attendance, activities completed, significant or problematic events, and weather conditions.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • 5+ years of relevant experience on construction sites.
  • Ability to read and understand plans and specifications.
  • Familiarity with the CCDG (Cahier des charges general / General Specifications) and the City of Gatineau's standardized specifications.
  • Professional attitude and the ability to adapt quickly to job site realities.
  • Proactive and able to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills with various stakeholders.
  • Commitment to quality and a job well done.
  • Ability to plan and organize work on a day-to-day basis.
  • Respect for rules, procedures, and work methods.
  • Ability to handle pressure, unexpected situations, and deadlines.
  • Good knowledge of health and safety regulations.
  • Bilingual (French / English).
  • CCQ (Commission de la construction du Quebec) competency certificate is an asset.
  • Mandatory ASP Construction course (Health & Safety certification).
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license.
