JOB SUMMARY

This full-time, at will marketing position plays a key role in advancing the mission and visibility of REAL Services by increasing public awareness, strengthening the Agency's brand, and promoting programs, services, fundraising initiatives, and community engagement opportunities. Working closely with the President/CEO, Director of Advancement and Outreach, agency leadership, and program staff, the Marketing & Events Manager develops and implements marketing and event strategies that support the Agency's strategic plan and organizational priorities.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES  

  1. Develop and implement marketing, communications, and event strategies that align with the Agency's mission, vision, strategic plan, and annual organizational priorities. 
  2. Lead the Agency's marketing and brand management efforts by ensuring consistent messaging, visual identity, and promotional strategies across all communication channels. 
  3. Manage the Agency's social media presence by developing content, capturing stories, monitoring engagement, and strengthening community awareness. 
  4. Create, coordinate, and maintain print and digital marketing materials that promote the Agency's programs, services, events, and community impact. 
  5. Plan, coordinate, and promote agency events, which may include volunteer recognition activities, donor engagement/fundraising events, community outreach initiatives, and other special events. 
  6. Collaborate with the CEO by developing marketing materials, promotional campaigns, event communications, and donor recognition activities that support fundraising and advancement initiatives. 
  7. Manage relationships with contracted marketing vendors by negotiating services, coordinating projects, overseeing deliverables, and ensuring quality, timeliness, and consistency with the Agency's brand standards.
  8. Work collaboratively with agency leadership and program staff to identify and communicate stories that demonstrate the impact of REAL Services. 
  9. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of marketing, social media, and event activities, using data to recommend improvements and strengthen community engagement. 
  10. Represent and serve as an ambassador for REAL Services at community meetings, networking events, speaking engagements, and outreach activities while fostering positive relationships with media, community partners, volunteers, sponsors, donors, and the public. 
  11. Other duties as may be assigned and/or requested from time to time in fulfillment if the agency's mission.  


RESPONSIBILITIES

This position serves as the Agency's marketing professional and is responsible for advancing a consistent, mission-driven enterprise brand across the organization. The incumbent works collaboratively with the President/CEO, leadership team, and staff while operating with a high degree of independence in planning, prioritizing, and executing assigned responsibilities. The Marketing & Events Manager exercises considerable independent judgment and discretion in managing projects, coordinating organizational initiatives, overseeing contracted marketing services, establishing priorities, and recommending strategies that support the Agency's mission and organizational goals. Success in this position requires sound decision-making, exceptional organizational skills, creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities while maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Five years of progressively responsible experience in marketing, communications, social media, event management, or a related field is required. 
  • An associate or bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred and may be substituted for a portion of the experience.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • Knowledge of marketing, branding, social media, and community engagement strategies. 
  • Excellent written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships and work effectively across departments with staff, volunteers, community partners, and other stakeholders. 
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet critical deadlines, and coordinate multiple concurrent projects and events. 
  • Ability to represent REAL Services professionally while serving as an effective ambassador for the Agency throughout the community. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and the ability to effectively utilize current marketing, communication, design, and social media technologies. 
  • Creative, self-motivated, and adaptable with sound judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently while contributing as a collaborative member of a team.

DIFFICULTY OF WORK

This position requires the ability to balance multiple projects, competing priorities, and critical deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality and professionalism. Success depends on exercising sound judgment, creativity, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment where priorities may shift quickly. The incumbent must effectively collaborate with staff across multiple programs, coordinate the work of external vendors and community partners, and represent the Agency professionally in a variety of public settings. Occasional evening and weekend work is required to support community outreach, special events, and fundraising activities.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is usually seated, standing, or walking at will in a typical office setting. Occasional presentations in the community and meetings with clients/volunteers may be required. Limited physical effort required. Regular travel required throughout the REAL Services operating area. Dependable transportation and valid driver's license is required.

CONDITIONS OF EMPOLYMENT

  • Successful candidate must submit to a pre-employment drug screening, limited criminal history check, driver check and National Sex Offender Registry check, SAM and OIG exclusion screenings. Must pass and maintain compliance with the agency's background check policy.  
  • Proof of educational credentials is required at employment.
  • Valid driver's license and a dependable vehicle required.
  • Must meet the Agency's required car insurance coverage level at employment and maintain it throughout the duration of employment (Liability Coverage: $100,000/$300,000/$100,000). 
  • Password protected internet access of good quality to perform the essential duties.
  • This position has a 90-day probationary period.
